Haha, I'm so glad I didn't rush out and buy it yesterday!! I had a suspicion the price would remain as is. More pressure on tom tom. I just really hope tomtom reduces the price soon!

I don't really have any urgency for TBT so I'm kinda waiting it out to see what all develops in the race and see what they have to offer. I'm really, really hoping that apple makes certain allowances for TBT like in-call navigation. This would really be one of the major factors leading me to make the plunge!

I only made this thread to be thoughtful... hope you bought it earlier than like 10pm EST because if not, you'll be spending $20 more than if you'd listened to the words of reason... :)

I've personally been pleased with this GPS app, and so have lots of other people, so if you've been sitting on the fence, the price supposedly is going up to $99.99 after today. If price is a deciding factor, make your move now! But, you never know, they may extend the discount again.

Also, the 1.2 update which adds text to speech, iPod integration, POI upgrades and automatic day/night screen transition has been submitted to Apple for approval since August 23rd, so expect that any day now barring a rejection. Best luck!

Quoting myself, if anyone wants to get all crazy technical, the main navigon web page still quotes 30% off and $69.99 price points. (30% off is in a separate bubble than the on sale until August 31st for $69.99) There can be some legality behind having to sell it at that price. Let me know if you have luck with that!

I have a feeling it's gonna stay at USD $69.99  :p

I guess I was wrong on this one, oh well I think $10 less TomTom is still a better choice (somehow)

For the price and how they're rolling out their updates, it is still very worth it.

I guess I was wrong too.

I still think if they kept it 15-20 cheaper than TomTom it'd sell even better, but 10 dollars less isn't bad either.

I don't have Navigon OR TomTom. I was very seriously considering paying the $69 yesterday before the price increase. THEN, I read a lot of Reviews. And I was thinking, I have ALL that they say that Navigon doesn't do in my G-Maps. And it only cost me approx $70 for both East & West. I cannot figure out why there aren't more reviews on G-Map and why more don't buy it. It ALWAYS alerts me of an upcoming turn in plenty of time, updates quickly when I take a wrong turn or don't make the right turn, has a pretty comprehensive set of POI's, and map out Routes and Interims and Save Routes, and has STREET TBT. So, I didn't buy Navigon. The only things I think that Navigon and TomTom has over G-Maps is the online Route planning (which is what I think I'm reading), and Horizontal mode. But I have a feeling I'll be getting that in the next upgrade or two. I haven't seen anything from G-Map about free upgrades for life, but one Reviewer had stated this on YouTube in a very advanced video of an upcoming upgrade. Anyway, I was very happy with the $34.99 G-Map West or East price, or broken down by States at $19.99. I may try Navigon if it comes back down in price. Time will tell. At least, we have competition between the GPS Apps. That's great for us consumers!

I have all 3 (dont ask) and if you need something once every few weeks G-Map can do the trick fine. However, for use more often, G-Map is really in a different class as an overall app. Inputting data is complex, the routing engine is terrible (comparatively), the POI database sucks (as it mostly does on Nav and TT), there is no contact integration, etc. That update you saw for GM is VERY old and it was supposed to be here months ago. The lack of landscape is a non starter for me for daily use. At relatively equal costs now for all 3 (for total US coverage) i would be looking at who i believe will be providing the most consistent and frequent updates and what future charges do i have to pay for. Having used GPS for a long time, you do not need to update your maps more than once a year and the cost to do so is indeed a big open question right now. These apps still have a some ways to go to improve and include the features provided in stand alone units. Nav has been quite good at providing updates and we supposedly will see a major one in the next week or so. That will put the ball in TT's court to see how long before they update their app.

For the Iberia version, Navigon actually lowered the price from 69.99€ to 49.99€...
Wish I held off on the purchase but still pretty sweet for new adopters.

cheers

That's good that they kept their word and raised prices, rather than the bs that TomTom pulls like lack of response to customers, ambiguous release dates, etc..

Their word was $99, not that I'm complaining.

I don't really need a GPS app, but for $70 it would've been nice to have. I'll wait for another sale.

I feel the same way.

I now wish I bought it when it was $70. Although the website said 30%, with list price $90, when I clicked on the app in itunes, it showed up as 69.99 for me yesterday. I clicked buy app, but a message came up that said, (paraphrasing) "This item/app is being modified, and is no longer available for purchase".

:(
