Late 2012 MacBook Pro acting slow and overheating, not living up to the "Pro" name

question ? why would you even say that this doesn’t act like a pro, when it’s 10 years old? It was a Pro back then when it was new. Why would it today? What were you expecting? Even the Mackbook air today its faster than what was built 10 years old

Yeah that MacBook looks pretty dusty. the thing is that I actually checked inside mine and the fans have no dust, neither does the rest of the MacBook. my battery is pretty bad on my MacBook, do you think that is a problem? I remember hearing that older MacBooks down clock to 1 GHz when they have no charge, but my battery is just in really bad condition (67% battery health, 337 cycles). Im starting to wonder if its even worth it to try to get this Mac working again since it is known to be really underpowered and I don't think it will work for what I need it to even if its working right
