I don’t get the desire to upgrade every year. Yeah new features are awesome but if they did go back to changes every year, what’s the point? A year with an iPad? Buying new for minor changes you may not need? And that’s a lot of money. Unless you can get full trade in value after a year, you are spending unnecessary money. Must be nice to have money like that to want to do so.

I do it. My iPad is my main work computer, aside from my iPhone, so I see the value in the upgrade each year. It costs me about $200 per year after I sell my previous iPad. The jump from the 9.7 Pro to the 10.5 and now to this actually has some major changes to it. Can’t wait.

Until this just this Month i was still using my 2012 ipad3, i really didn't see are real reason to buy a new one till i noticed how must faster the iPadPro worked, i also understood like with my first ipad when Apple stopped support it's OS system it just did not work very well.

This is all personal preference really. Some may use an iPad (or any device) until it absolutely no longer works or breaks before they upgrade. Some may upgrade every few years or so, and some may upgrade every year (whether it be by trading in or selling their previous device, or if they have the means to put funds into a new device every year).

Myself personally, with some devices I upgrade frequently, others every few years or so. I pretty much always sell my current device privately and it funds the majority of the cost for the new device.

The 2017 iPad Pros are pretty darn nice tablets, and some of the best products Apple have come out with in years considering all of the tech that's picked into them, especially their 120Hz screens. They're pretty much perfect and it's hard to justify upgrading from them when they're already so good.

But if any of rumours are in the slightest bit true, the next gen Pros will be the first major redesign to iPads since their inception and seem like they're worth waiting for. They will be the 2017 Pros on steroids, and the beginning of a new generation of iPads. The desire and potential of what could be is strong.

If the new iPads are a great improvement i will move my 2018 iPadPro to the bedroom, keep new iPad in living room but first will wait till the first buyers confirm that they indeed are super great.

I have an air 2 that still is wonderful, so I can't imagine how much faster this will be. Depending on the price, I want to update!
