Opened, closed and reopened the horrid of a 2017 15" MacBook Pro over and over again, worst MacBook ever made, I used a lot of models to compare them too.

- As to people having this issue: Get it to an apple store asap, only thing that's in there that could hold liquid would be the battery.
- Unfortunately Apple Certified Repair Points technician's do not possess the skill/knowledge right(since apple does not allow it) to replace the battery, they will charge you for a full top case replacement.(Make sure you check both your speakers once this is done![I've seen/heard speaker issues after this repair on several occasions with different stores and different macbooks])

The battery leaking like this = dangerous, if you have the confidence and can't justify letting go off the machine because of this you could try my solution to keep using this computer.
-> No more battery! use it as a desktop computer.
Tips: Before you try this know that you want to remove the trackpad, motherboard before removing the battery! (you will have to use liquids, I recommend isopropyl alcohol 90%+)
Use dental floss! people recommend cards, but the chance to puncture a broken battery is just too big, use some dental floss on the glue underneath the battery, once you have to use force use more isopropyl alcohol to loosen the next bit. This requires a lot of patience.

Congratulations you now have a MacBook that doesn't boot.(if the battery board is not connected you can't boot, a slight thick when pressing the power button is enough tough and disconnecting it after booting has no changes to the machine - so keep this handy. mine has been taped to the connector and works fine)

If you are going to use your MacBook like this(as a desktop computer). don't forget to tape the USB-C cable that takes care of the power to it, if you used your ports for 2-3 years in some extend they're probably very loose sudden powerdrops are never good.

In short: THIS IS DANGEROUS either fix it or let it get fixed - Don't invest too much into this machine the leap of the m1 is just too big.
