I emailed AT&T to see about school discounts and this is what they said:
Thank you for contacting AT&T because you would like to know whether you get a discount on your phone bill while enrolled in Cypress College. My name is Carmen Rough and I am happy to assist you with your inquiry.
I can definitely understand your interest in receiving a discount from your monthly AT&T service charges. AT&T has business agreements with thousands of corporations, government agencies and educational institutions to offer wireless products to their employees and families at a significant discount. I have provided the requirements and important information for our business discount program below:
- The account holder must be an active employee and have a W-2 on the company?s payroll.
- The account holder must be the individual associated to the company/entity in order to enroll in the IRU foundation account number (business discounts are associated with a specific foundation account number, or FAN).
- Accounts in the name of the spouse and/or family members of the individual associated to the company/entity do not qualify for foundation account number enrollment.
- The account must be individual/personal liability.
- If not, a transfer of billing responsibility must be completed to individual/personal liability before enrolling to an IRU service discount.
- Certain rate plans may not be eligible for a foundation account number monthly recurring charge discount.
- If the rate plan does not mention foundation account number monthly recurring charge eligibility, the rate plan is eligible based on the foundation account number contract.
- When the verification process is complete, the foundation account number will be added to the account.
- Once validated, the discount shows up on your bill in one to two bill cycles after the foundation account number is added to the account.
- Account holders who enroll/qualify for IRU/corporate discounts may need to agree to new two year contract.
- During the web validation process, you will be presented with the terms and conditions to accept.
- The monthly recurring charge discount, if applicable, appears under the credits, adjustments and other charges section of the invoice and it reads as national account Discount.
- Once a foundation account number is added to an account, the combined bill discount no longer appears (if such a discount was present). The foundation account number discount supersedes any combined bill discount.
To determine or confirm if you are affiliated with an organization that qualifies for additional savings, we need your employee email address because employment must be verified before a business discount can be applied to the account:
If you have a valid work e-mail address, you may begin the online enrollment process at:
www.att.com/wirelessdiscounts
Please note that you will need to provide either a work or school e-mail address to enroll online. Once you get your e-mail confirmation message, please check your e-mail and click the link provided to verify your e-mail address and complete the sponsorship process. The e-mail may be sent to the spam folder. As such, if the e-mail is not found in the inbox, check your spam folder. Please note that the e-mail will be sent from:
premier@premier.wireless.att-mail.com with the subject line of ?individual responsibility user - online validation process. The option to enroll online is not available for retired AT&T and BellSouth employees. If you did not receive the e-mail notification confirmation, we will need to e-mail or mail you the IRU end user agreement form and then you will need to either fax or e-mail in the form once completed.
If you do not have a work e-mail address, you must fax or e-mail the IRU end user agreement form along with employment verification documentation to AT&T. There are three ways to obtain the IRU end user agreement form. You can visit a company owned retail location or the form can be e-mailed to either your personal or work e-mail address, or we can mail you the form.
Below are acceptable forms of employment verification documentation:
- Qualifying company/entity photo ID/badge which includes the name of the company/entity and the expiration date.
- Your current pay stub which includes the name of the company/entity.
- Student/university photo ID which includes the name of the college/university and the expiration date.
- Union member badge/photo ID which includes the expiration date.
- Your company business card (must contain an e-mail address with corresponding company domain) or medical ID for select businesses and retirees.
- AT&T and Bell South retirees may also provide pension check stub or retiree ID.
You may visit one of our company owned retail locations and provide employment verification identification. The link to our store locator is:
http://www.wireless.att.com/find-a-store/
If you prefer that we either e-mail or mail you the IRU end user agreement form, please respond to this e-mail with your preferred method of receipt and we would be glad to assist you further.
-The account number will be requested on the form. Your account number is 594236250.
-The foundation account number must be on the form prior to faxing/e-mailing.
- Our company owned retail locations can provide you the foundation account number once the ID is verified.
- Complete instructions can be found on the IRU end user agreement form.
- The IRU end user agreement form and the employment identification documentation must be faxed or e-mailed.
- Once submitted the AT&T verification will review the submission within three days.
- Once the foundation account number is added, you will receive a text message notification.
- If for some reason the foundation account number cannot be added or additional information is needed, you will be contacted via phone.
- You will need to provide one form of valid employment verification identification with the form.
