Americans… please could someone explain why you all seem to call it "Legos" (plural), instead of "Lego"?

Because in Americas we adds the essssssssses wheres they don't belongs..... mmkay!?!? People thing of 'LEGO' as a non-proper noun, so 'LEGOs' rolls off the tongue and doesn't hurt anybody. That is until you step on one of them and scream "F*N LEGOs!~~!!Q"!

But I am glad to see there are more AFOLs than I expected here.

Why is the headquarters being reviewed??

Also do the lights on the Ecto-1 car flash? I saw this on YT where the car lights flash.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntaKfywhPO4

When some one who does not work for Lego submits an idea to the Lego Ideas website it has to get 10,000 votes. Once it gets those votes Lego will review it to decide whether or not they will make the set.

The lights do not flash on the regular set, however, people can modify them to do so.

The brand name is Lego. The bricks are Lego bricks or Legos. At least that is how I have always understood it.

People do the same with Barbies, G.I. Joes, etc.

Vintage Lego haul! Today I went to my parents house and got all of my old Legos. I had the foresight to organize very well before I stopped collecting. These sets are all from the late 80s and early 90s. Most of them are complete with instructions and boxes.

I don't really have time, and the space to build them anymore as a parent of 2 kids. And they aren't big enough to play with those yet.

Mostly new ones but some are from the 90's when I was a kid. Like in the movie, i was a master builder and did not follow instructions. So many of my old kits are not complete anymore.

The brand name is Lego. The bricks are Lego bricks or Legos. At least that is how I have always understood it.

If we're going to be particular, the brand name is, in fact, LEGO (capitalized). And, according to LEGO:
If the LEGO trademark is used at all, it should always be used as an adjective, not as a noun. For example, say "MODELS BUILT OF LEGO BRICKS". Never say "MODELS BUILT OF LEGOs".

i'm pretty sure my wife is thankful my dedicated hobbies are sports related (cycling and hockey) and not Lego like it used to be...

i do seriously regret selling off my collection now though seeing some of those pictures, as I had a ton of the technic sets, and quite a few of the ones you show.

Tonight I started the rebuilding of my childhood collection.

6571 released in 1994. The vehicles and figures have already been posted, I just have to get them out of another box.
