It is a good ad. I enjoyed it.

It isnt even an attack really, Apple themselves will tell you that if you need multiple USB ports, a constantly available optical drive etc etc the Air isnt for you.

Anyone with those needs should consider the x300. They should be aware that they are making other tradeoffs though. The x300 is more expensive, has a much slower processor, a less bright screen and shorter battery life with the only battery that will keep it in the same size range as the Air (4 cell).

I like when he/she almost drops the PC-laptop because it is heavy....they should have used both hands.

I enjoyed watching the video. Whilst it is true that you need a USB hub, etc., just to connect all of those devices at the same time BUT do you really need all of them at once?

I can't wait for someone to create a Lenovo X300 parody - more expensive, less battery life, *runs* Vista (yuck!) and less processing power.

LOL if that were a real ad, several Lenovo execs would be looking for new jobs today.

For non-Mac portables, the Thinkpad line is tops for me.

Pretty cool ad, but not saying Vista is a compromise is a lie.

Oh I dunno.

My 1.33Ghz X300 and TZ's launches some equivalent programs faster than the Air. Heck, even the UX launches some programs faster than the Air. I'm productive be it with OS X or Vista - and in some ways (like remote access solutions) I'm more productive with Vista. I can choose between sleep or hibernation for additional power ekeing. The wireless actually works. They stay more constant with the fan / temp, don't turn into furnaces at the drop of even a slightly hogging program. They don't bend. I could go on.

The Air is a compromise of everything an ultraportable should be for image. That said, the X300 isn't for me and I'm going back to the TZ.

Oh well, off to book my Air in for an issue. That makes it 100% for the number of Intel Macbooks I've had that has needed some sort of attention. As opposed to zero incidents for Lenovo and Sony in the same period - and we aren't talking just 2 or 3 machines. It's not just the functionality, quality is a compromise too.

With my two sony Vaio's a TR and a UX both had problems, the TR's motherboard died, and the UX's HDD died within the first week. Neither of which were quick fixes.

Problem is it makes people like me think I don't want to be sensible, I want to be reckless and buy the Mac.

That's one of the ugliest laptops I've ever seen. ...and running Windows is the biggest compromise a computer user can make.

The ad was funny but got to admit the air still looked very sexy with the peripherals attached :D lol

Ha ha ha! That's a pretty funny ad.

I like how the Superdrive was upside down--When my wife first tried to use the superdrive she had it like that.

They should have avoided showing the Air, though. It makes the Thinkpad look like something left over from a car accident by comparison.

It's a bit unfair, of course. The point of the Air is that you rarely need to plug anything in to it besides the power cord (which, thanks to the MagSafe connection is really easy--you just get it kind of close and it snaps itself in). If you ever need a USB hub you probably bought the wrong computer.

I liked the ad, though. I think the Mac/PC ads are a little mean spirited. It's nice to see someone take a shot at Apple for a change. :p
