All the games I own :D.

But really, all the Valve games, and all the games that already have a Mac version, so most Indie games. Tempted to buy Galcon Fusion for $2 now, so when the Steam Mac version comes out, maybe I will get it for free :D.

$2!? I thought it was $10?

I'd never heard of Galcon Fusion before, bought it during that sale and its a pretty fun game. That's coming to OSX too? I'd install that on my OSX Steam partition (with probably just TF2 and L4D, depends on how good the games run compared to Windows).

It's already out on the Mac.

we have added a new feature, called Steam Play, which allows customers who purchase the product for the Mac or Windows to play on the other platform free of charge.

Yes. But it says 'purchase.' I'm wondering what about those of us that have already purchased the games before the mac client comes out. Valve could decide that this will be an option only for people who purchase the games post-mac client release. I hope not at least!

Yep this news makes it sound like I was way off in my guess.

I already have TF2 and Portal on the PC purchased...it would be nice to be able to play them on my iMac (or new mbp if they ever release the update).

Nevermind. Here's an interview with the application development director at Valve (from appleinsider)

Cook: We are using a featured called "Steam Play" which will allow Mac gamers to play against PC gamers and -- for our games and any of our partners who are interested in using the feature -- be able to obtain any game they purchase on either system without the need to purchase two copies. So, for example, if you already own Left 4 Dead 2 on the PC you won't need to purchase it again for the Mac.

Already own sums it up. Awesomeness!

I would say that any game(s) that are currently available for the Mac on disc would have a great chance of being quickly done on steam. CnC series for example. Nothing really to rewrite at that point.

Source has a huge base of games that are extremely popular. That alone is going to attract a lot more game makers to do more, and not to mention games perhaps exclusively for the Mac as it opens up a new distribution system for current Mac game makers.

I am hoping for Supreme Commander 2 myself, but I think that is a pipe dream. ;)

(get it? Pipe? Steam? Valve? hahaha) sorry. Really I am.

Any really old dos based games are likely to be included as well (Such as Doom and Dark Forces) given that Steam uses dosbox to run those games which is available on the mac

^^Could be a bit pointless as most of those are over at the Macintosh Garden for free as they are abandonware.

They are not abandonware if they are still being sold ;)

Besides, it is much easier and more stable to get dosbox up and running on an intel mac then emulation of a PPC MacOS 8 machine on an intel mac.

question..
I bought call of duty 4 and battlefield 2 not through steam, but can I run it through steam?
