So apparently the LG V510 that was leaked a few days ago is a Nexus device...

Specs (supposedly based on the G Pad 8.3):
-1200 x 1920 resolution
-2GBs RAM
-5MP FF/1.3MP RF Cameras
-4600mAH Battery

ANDDD nope...it's a Google Play Edition G Pad.

I'm hoping this is true. For me the Nexus 7 is a little too narrow, the Nexus 10 a little too big.

Same here. I own the original N7 and while it's just right to hold in one hand like a large cellphone, you just wish it was a tad larger with the current N7 resolution.

Just customize the V500. What's the big deal?

Reddit says this is not nexus but Google play edition.

That'll still work. Considering Google has recently started fragmenting their Nexus devices and updates are even slow to roll out to anything not a Nexus 5, really isn't any different. Just dump the LG skin and I'm interested.

I'm starting to think this is the Nexus 10. LG only has one tablet in the market, so maybe they codename both similar.

Big problem.

Seems like it will be a G Pad Google Edition tablet.

Why is it a problem? Because the GE devices only sell on the US :mad:

When all the Nexus devices are getting different versions of KitKat with varying degrees of functionality, what do you call it?

Which ones are getting a different version?

And im pretty sure iPhones dont get the full version from iOS 6 to iOS 7. The 4s didnt get the entire full version of 6 or 7. I dont know about iP5 if it got all of 7 or not. Is that what your calling fragmentating their devices?

I WANT that G Pad GE!!!!

If I buy it through eBay will it work in Europe (apart from the american wall charger)?? I may wait for someone to sell it on eBay and buy it there.

It's the Nexus 8!! :D:D

I don't see why it would not work. You may just pay a premium from eBay.

Nexus 5 is the only device getting GEL (and yes, I know I can side-load it but why do I have to?). Also, last year's Nexus 7 does have ART. The two year old Galaxy Nexus doesn't even get KK.

And where did I mention Apple or compare what Google's doing with the Nexus updates to anyone else? It's pretty amusing how the many of the rank and file of the Alternative's forum are critical of the Apple apologists yet resort to exactly the same behavior when some criticizes anything Android.

Believe it or not, criticism of Google doesn't automatically mean it's a comparison to Apple's practices. I'm personally just as critical of Apple for the very same behavior when they cripple certain features on older devices but you know why I didn't mention it? Because it has nothing to do with this discussion.
