What is your Mac version? I have 10.14.6, and I've seen that the OpenOffice I've been using is outdated. I'd like to update to the latest version (4.1.13), but it's listed as functioning up to and including Mac 10.13... What do you think? or anyone?
I'm using Open Office 4.1.10 on Monterey. Note, though, that I recently upgraded from Mojave so I haven't done much with Open Office since changing from macOS 10.14 to 12.x . All my OO files do seem to open without any problems.

However, I just tried checking for Open Office updates within the application and it is returning a "Checking for an update failed"/"Error reading data from the Internet" message. I'll dig into this later and will post an update if anything interesting surfaces.

----------
ETA: I installed OO 4.1.13 after downloading the installer from the OO website. It looks like the developer doesn't have the credentials required to have macOS open OO without giving explicit permission in System Preferences/Security & Privacy/General after macOS rejects opening OO. After granting permission, everything seems to be operating as expected in OO, including the update checker.

OpenOffice has been dead for a long time, LibreOffice is the one fork still being developed.
