Cats like warm places.

paleck said:My family has cats (up to three of them (and a bird) at one time). A few years ago I moved back into my mom's house for a few months and discovered what the youngest cat does. When I had lived in the house before I was upstairs, but this time I was in the basement. At approx 4:45 to 5:00am Prince would start running laps around the main floor of our house. Image the pitter, patter, pitter, patter, silence (as he jumps up on couches, sofas, tables and chairs in his way), landing, pitter, patter. He keeps this up until someone comes out of their room or until 6:30am. If someone does come out of their room he makes sure to lie down directly in front of your path so that you will trip over him on your way to the bathroom. This ensures that he gets a full stomach rub first thing in the morning before he goes off to do other catly things.
He also hates being under blankets unless he has gotten himself under there or there is something else moving underneath that he can chase (like another cat or a hand).

Ooh, I've just noticed you're in Bristol.
I'm just across the water in Wales, but I'm in Bristol a fair amount.
