anyone have recommendations on a headphone adapter that doesn't need to be screwed in that works with the headphone access depth of the case? I just want to be able to quickly plug and unplug between our 2 vehicles and neither has Bluetooth.

thanks in advance!

Unfortunately I don't have any suggestions for a headphone adapter that will fit, but I can tell you that there are a number of reasonably inexpensive devices out there that will allow you to add bluetooth to a car that doesn't have it.

The one I use is the Blackberry Music Gateway. It's a tiny little box with a headphone jack that goes into the aux port on your car stereo (where you plug your phone in now) and a miniusb port for power. Unfortunately it doesn't come with a cigarette lighter adapter for power, so you'll need to get one of those separately, but I love this little device. It automatically connects to the phone when I get in and start the car and I just put my car stereo on Aux to hear whatever is playing on my phone without wires or anything.

The Blackberry Music Gateway is just for music and not calls, which was perfect for me because my car did support calls over bluetooth, but not music. There are other devices out there that will do both music and calls if that would be useful to you.

I picked up a decent quality cable at radio shack for $15 or $20 that fits without a problem.

Actually using it is a different story. The finger hole is definitely a bit cramped and it's a bit inconvenient to push the home button now since it's so recessed. I'm sure it's something that I'll get used to over time, though.

Just wanted to follow up on my review here. After having used the case for 2 days now I'm getting used to the recessed home button. It's not as convenient as it was with the iPhone 5 Nuud case, but it's no longer bothering me every time I have to push the home button either.

sound quality / speaker vibration??

I've previously used Otterbox on my iPhone 1 and iPhone 4. Just got the 5S. I'm really interested in the nuud, but have seen mixed reviews on sound quality and case vibrations when using the speaker. Can any of y'all speak to those points?

Thanks,

Thanks,

Sound is muffled but isn't horrible for the speaker. The ear piece I've had no issues with. Also as far as vibrations there are some from the music/sound bass but nothing horrible.

same here, sound is a little muffled but not horrible. I rarely listen to music that way anyways and for speaker phone calls it is fine. vibrations are minimal.

the biggest thing for me to get used to coming from a minimal TPU cases is the size. I can't comfortably use the phone one-handed as much anymore but that's the sacrifice to make for all the added protection.

I opened and tried 3 different brand cables at target and none of them worked! I'm intrigued by the Bluetooth option and might get one for my wife's car. LP is sending me a replacement for my failed water test nuud case so if get an adapter with it, i will probably just deal with the screw in interface for both cars.

thanks for the responses!

After searching high and low it seems the apple store is the only place you can get this right now in australia.

I bought one, which passed the water test then broke around the O-ring on the back of the case when opening. Failed the next water test so back it went.
Next case exactly the same! I was careful both times when opening the case even more so second time.
Anyone else experienced similar? I can't decide if I'm doing something wrong or the if the seal is too strong for the material.
It's hard to photo but you get the idea.

You've gotta be. I've taken mine off about 3-4 times now with no issues each time. Maybe your flexing the back cover to much?

Just got mine in Australia today, no problems with it whatsoever, I've taken it off about 10 times. Just don't flex the back too much and there shouldn't be a problem. Overall a good case, not sure if I am game enough to water test it with my phone, done the initial water test and it passed.

mine is pretty tough to remove and the back plate does flex quite a bit when removing so I am careful to do it gradually. my first nuud failed the watertest and LP sent me a replacement. the seal around the slot where you pop the case open was the culprit.

I haven't submersed my actual iphone either but have given the front a quick rinse a few times to clear up some dust that gets trapped by the seal.

good luck!

Looking to get this case, but I was wondering if I should get a screen protector and if so which one? And will one even work for this case?

Where did you get it? Apple store have them $99 though.

The case comes with one that is optional. If you decide to apply it, be careful not to damage the o-ring seal around the screen.

Thank you for the advice, should I go with the $10 total water protection if I do decide to put it on? It does seem like a good investment considering I didn't buy applecare.

Why would you put a screen protector on the nuud, isn't the idea having the glass screen? May as well get a 5S fre. Before someone says it the new fre 5S screen is no worse than any stick on protector i have tried. Sits flat and works great.
I may get a nuud too just for the clarity.

Was it wet? Everyone hasn't has an issue hearing me on my end with my case on. Just curious.

I have had that if making a call when straight out of the water. Just blow the water out of the mic hole.

If the fre had a translucent back there would be no discussion, but there is not and there is no sense in buying both products and swapping them out so compromise must come somewhere. And I also want to be able to touch the screen but not get fingerprints or dirt on the actual screen itself.
