Hello @wicknix
I saw your suggestion for Slax Linux as a VM and tried it on my 2007 MacBook (2.5GB/SSD/SL) and VirtualBox. However, it was so slow to the point which it was unusable. Do you think that I set it up wrong, or would this be fairly expected behaviour on a computer like this?
Thanks

It should be quite speedy. Might have to adjust your VM settings. Dont go overboard with it. Give it like 8mb ram for video card, and 1gb for ram. If you give it too much ram it'll choke off OS X which in turn will slow down the VM. Same goes for too little. Chromium needs a good 800mb ram alone just to run decently. Also when using a VM on low ram machines, close all other heavy applications in OS X to free up system memory.

Cheers

Thank you for the suggestion. I rechecked the settings and realised that there was not enough allocated memory, and it works quite well now. :) Thank you so much for putting all of this together; it is quite wonderful to have this functionality all while staying at home in Snow Leopard and I appreciate your work.
