Here's some more things I've found

1) Cheaper
2) Better speakers
3) Unfortunately no G5
4) It's more expensive than a Dell but unlike Dell when calling customer support from the US you get someone who natively speaks English and you can just bring it in to any Appple Store and get assistance.
5) Video card is crappy, Crysis in full detail turned up just doesn't work... (ripped off IMHO)
6) It will run faster than a G4 iBook
7) Seems to be good for trollbait threads
8) Doesn't have a 1.44" Floppy drive
9) You can't upgrade it to an i7
10) The monitor is brighter, in fact so bright that the words I am typing are being burnt into the back of my skull
11) No firewire
12) The 8GB of DDR2 ram I bought to upgrade it wont install...

Fixed it for you.;)

Do you have an iPod touch or an iPhone? You can use Apple's own Keynote remote application to control your slideshows and to view presentation notes as you're presenting. I find it a lot more useful than the remote.

I think Apple wants you to get the Remote app to control iTunes and the Keynote app to control Keynote, instead of relying on the remote. Actually I can see Apple omitting the IR sensor on all future Macs.

Someone pointed out in another thread that the new models don't appear to have an ambient light sensor.

I assure you, I can touch type just fine. The backlit keyboard isn't about touch typing. It is useful, for example, for doing complex key combos in the dark.

OP one item you missed on your list is ambient light sensor to auto dim the display. Original air had that.

I agree. I can also touch type just fine. I am sure that I will miss the backlit keyboard a lot. I use my MBA a lot, laying in bed when it is dark. Top lit keyboards (as someone suggested the screen provides) has the problem that your fingers cast shadows exactly where you want to type. I have owned plenty of laptops without backlit keyboards to know the difference.

My wife has been wanting to inherit my Rev C MBA for quite a while now... and has been patiently waiting for the MBA update. She may end up with the new MBA because of this feedback.

I'll be willing to bet that next year's MBA will reinstate a backlit keyboard.

It really shouldn't be that big of a deal, should it? And yet... don't know if I can live without it.
