MP 1,1-5,1 Lite-On LTR-40125S w/MP3,1 High Sierra

Any reason why this drive should not be usable with a MP3,1 running High Sierra on a SSD (not NVMe) boot?
The OEM OPTIARC DVD RW AD-7170A are crap.
The LTR-40125S is a PATA.
