I wonder how the new Mastering Assistant features in the latest Logic update will stack up against Izotope’s offerings, like Ozone. Has anyone had the chance to compare them yet? Excited to check it out and hear your thoughts!
If you’re at such an early stage, you’re probably better off with Garageband anyway. Of course, it’s free so there’s no financial commitment. Then if you stick with it you can invest in Logic Pro.I've been wanting to get into making music for ages but I'm not sure if I can justify spending £200 on a bit of software I might get bored of using after a couple of days. I have a MIDI keyboard and everything.
I want the opposite. A proper Light mode that matches the OS settings. The option to switch between them would be great. Personally I hate dark applications.I just wanna know why Logic on MacOS is still so bright compared to dark mode in iOS or FCPX as well. Make it all dark please.
I'm fine with them actually having a lighter/darker mode. Logic was kinda left in the middle alone tho and I'm not sure why, wondering if musicians specifically asked for it or if Apple just treats it like Aperture and doesn't think about it much (after no color update I did almost think it was gonna get the boot lol) or maybe they just found something didn't look right visually when it's darker like the rest of their apps?I want the opposite. I'm on Ventura.me neither, would not surprise me if Monterey support is gone...
Maxes out 44.1kz, No mixer, No Aux Tracks, the list goes on…WHat's keeping you from using Garageband? It's incredibly powerful.
As someone that has been with Logic since it was 2.01 (under eMagic), it's pretty much the greatest deal out there if you are even casually thinking about getting into music. Simply can't be beat for what you get for the $.I've been wanting to get into making music for ages but I'm not sure if I can justify spending £200 on a bit of software I might get bored of using after a couple of days. Use opencore, Ventura runs well on my 2011…Looks like the end of the road for my 2015 MBP which is stuck on Monterey. Bummer.
I'm interested to know this too. I got turned on to Izotope and find their products to be the bees knees.I wonder how the new Mastering Assistant features in the latest Logic update will stack up against Izotope’s offerings, like Ozone. Yeah for real, "oh noooooo! better buy a new laptop!"Use opencore, Ventura runs well on my 2011…
only feature missing from Logic for iPad is a permanent licence.
I just checked it out on a project. Mix > Mastering Assistant adds a mastering plugin to the stereo out strip. The auto EQ did a nice job of adding some clarity to my mix, but I had to dial it down to 60% (there's a slider) as it was a bit heavy handed to begin with.I wonder how the new Mastering Assistant features in the latest Logic update will stack up against Izotope’s offerings, like Ozone. I just did a few tests and I think it's very good. In fact, I got better results in my few tests with Logic's Mastering Assistant than with Ozone. However, with Ozone, you can switch to the Detailed View and set every module the way you like, which is not possible with Logic's Mastering Assistant.I wonder how the new Mastering Assistant features in the latest Logic update will stack up against Izotope’s offerings, like Ozone. Did you know that a 90-day trial of Logic Pro is available? https://www.apple.com/logic-pro/trialI've been wanting to get into making music for ages but I'm not sure if I can justify spending £200 on a bit of software I might get bored of using after a couple of days. Ableton, Cubase, Reaper are all non-subscription.Trust me, you'll justify it quickly if you have any interest in audio production. It's an excellent bit of kit that is not only easy to use but packed to the brim with creative features. You just can't compare it to GarageBand, which is more or less a tracker/arranger for MIDI and basic audio editor.
Though Pro Tools is still the industry platform, many producers are now switching back to Logic.
Also most other professional DAWs are subscription-based, which makes Logic something of a welcome rarity. Plus, you'll soon match the equivalent price of a subscription, meaning that in the long run it's a total bargain.
Its $200. If you have a serious keyboard you use sometimes, how much as that? And the amp? And the headphones?I've been wanting to get into making music for ages but I'm not sure if I can justify spending £200 on a bit of software I might get bored of using after a couple of days. See if you feel inspired with the free Garageband, it is pretty ok and free. If you are still feeling inspired after a few months, then make the jump to Logic.I've been wanting to get into making music for ages but I'm not sure if I can justify spending £200 on a bit of software I might get bored of using after a couple of days. Garageband is powerful with AU integration, i agree.WHat's keeping you from using Garageband? It's incredibly powerful.
