It's bizarre that even the new Bolt dongle is still USB-A
I guess USB A is still quite common in things like docking stations etc., where you would typically use such a receiver.

Btw., one thing to note especially for Mac users is that I'm not sure if the Bluetooth connection will work during boot on a FileVault-enabled system. At least if I remember correctly this was an issue on Intel system - you only had a Bluetooth connection once booted up.

With the receivers, this is not a problem, as they basically look like a USB keyboard to the system.

Edit: previous poster just beat me to it ;)

There's also the regular Wave Keys that works with Mac and Windows, comes in different colors, and includes the Bolt receiver. Both keyboards are the same price. Am I missing something? Are you essentially paying extra to not get the Windows keys?

I was just wondering EXACTLY this

Seems like a rip off to just to get "mac only keycaps" .. but lose an included Bolt receiver (which has actual value here)

Maybe they just figure there is free margin sitting there with Apple users who are used to getting fleeced by Apple anyhow? That's how this seems...

Interesting how the Wave Keys for Mac doesn't include the Bolt receiver, so you have to use Bluetooth or buy the receiver separately if you don't already have one. If you use Bluetooth and have FileVault on, then you may have trouble entering your password at start or reboot (link).

I've got the Ergo K860 (works and looks great with my Space Black MBP). I wasn't keen on installing the software either due to previous experiences I've had at work. The keyboard works fine without it, but was still curious to check out the software anyway. Surprisingly, the Logi Options+ app has never popped up in my face, I forget that it's even there. You can do some pretty cool stuff with it. I like how you can program the function/shortcut keys to do different things based on what app you're in. For example, when in Teams, I have a key set to mute/unmute my mic, but the same key does something different when I'm not in Teams.

Logitech's "for Mac" accessories have always been more expensive for basically no reason.

why did they get rid of the solar charging k750 ? makes no sense. I've had mine for years never had to replace the battery or plug it in to charge or anything... oh hang on, it's because it lasts for years. got it!

I'm using the Ergo K860 & MX Master 3 for Mac on my Mac Studio & Windows 11 desktop. The Wave Keys for Mac looks cool, I just wish it had a split keyboard like my Ergo. I do have the Logi Options+ software installed & haven't had any issues with it. And like others have said it would be nice if their keyboards had TouchID, but that will probably never happen.

That looks identical to the space gray Logitech MX Keys for Mac I've had sitting on my desk for the last few years.
The Number Pad and the Command / Alt, Option / Start buttons are really the only difference. The number pad is a big one for me - Macs have a small + above the enter key where Windows have a large + above the enter key. So it really messes you up if you use that frequently.

I keep wishing someone would make these Ergo keyboards with no number pad at all

:(

Cool but what a fokken waste of a opportunity by putting a useless emoji shortcut right in the middle of the functions row...
Apple's mind fixation on emojis has infected this keyboard...

After buying one MX Master 3S and one MX Keys Mini, have been almost 1,5 years on a shelf because of the mouse cursor lag when paired to my Mac mini M1. They work quite fine on Windows 10 on my MBA i5 Bootcamp.
I realized too late to send back to Amazon and it was too soon for a second hand sale.

Somehow, early this month, I connected them again to my M1 mini and the mouse seems to run in a more stable way since no lags noticed. Perhaps the firmware has been updated in a quiet-silent-stealth install, even though it was not possible to update firmware to this couple, neither over bluetooth nor using logi bolt. NO peace of mind with this stuff.

Did they replace the coating on this white MX Vertical with something that doesn't melt when it comes in contact with human skin/oils?

A $100 mouse shouldn't literally dissolve in your hands after a year of use. It's frustrating, because I otherwise LOVE the product, and it's fantastic to use as a developer, artist, and gamer. But at this point, I feel like I'm subscribing to a physical product because they do not last. And yes, I'm cleaning them properly.

So no one here has interference problems with Logitech devices? I consistently have a laggy mouse when using a Logitech on Mac but not on Windows. Even had issues with their MX keyboard going to sleep prematurely but only when used on a Mac.

Some time ago Logitech decided to stop selling ANSI layout on their keyboards in Europe. Since then their keyboards have been dead to me.

It's embarrassing that all Apple accessories still use LIGHTNING to charge in 2024. What the hell is going on at this company.

And that's without mentioning there's still no backlit keyboard 🤦‍♂️

From my experience with Logitech's 'instal-ware' that constantly kept popping and was hard to get rid of, I'm not particularly excited about PC'ing my Mac. Macally is still the 2nd party 'made for Mac' choice for me.
Ooo I love Macally! I have a space gray aluminum keyboard from them that's pushing a decade old now and it still looks and performs as it did the day I unboxed it.

Yup. It's why I refuse to buy any of that nonsense until they update it all to use the same charging standard as literally every other consumer electronic that currently ships from every major brand on the planet.

Nothing beats the Logitech DiNovo Edge Mac Edition. It was amazing and didn't have chiclet keys. I wish they'd make that again.

I was shocked when I got it and found that wrist rest was metal. That was a solid beautiful keyboard.
Amen (I went through a few of my own)...But the MX is the closest to it. And in fact, I now find the MX superior in feel (and functionality). It is SUCH a great keyboard. If they added TouchID, it would be so perfect that Apple would have to license it.

I also have the Apple keyboard with TouchID (for second Studio Mac) and the Logitech MX is superior in every other way.

I don’t think you are missing anything. I have purchased a variety of Logitech keyboards and mice over the years and always get the standard (eg, non Mac specific) ones because they are the same price AND you get the dongle which I generally find provides a more stable connection than Bluetooth, particularly depending upon where your computer is relative to your device. Otherwise they seem to work identically. The “for Mac” branding just seems to be a way for Logi to eke out a bit more margin.
