Hi people,

Thank you all for the great positive feedback (it's appreciated).

It looks like I'm going to develop the bottom ones a little more so I can present them to my boss, hopefully they will pick this and not the fugly thunder looking one...

Cheers :apple:

I like this one. It features all the best ideas from your original concept. And the color choice is much better.

Agreed. I found the bite distracting. I like this version. The bottom type will be easier to reproduce in some applications.

Overall concept is attractive

Sun and clouds certainly represent weather. Make certain to do research to see if it similar to competitors. Google "weather" images among other sources.

I am not entirely fond of the logotype. Maybe it's just because it is not kerned correctly. Some automatically assume this means make it tight but for logo type -- particularly long words -- it is good to open characters up a bit for legibility. That "r" smacking the "z" is distracting. Perhaps a custom ligature or character modification is required in this area. But if you space out the "er" you won't be so inclined to touch the "rz." For the black version, your overall letter spacing should be a bit more open than when against white.

A logotype also should be a bit more distinctive than a standard font. Forget about the reflection -- that's just an effect that shouldn't become part of a brand identity. Perhaps some subtle links to the symbol can be carried over in the logotype. A couple of things come to mind. One of those angled points on the sun might work well for the middle point of the "w". Or the "o" might have some connection with the round sun; maybe it should just be larger or have the same shading. There a several round characters ("ea", "e", "one"). I would consider altering the sizes to replicate the cloud effect in the symbol. Maybe any of these ideas would be too much; they are just avenues to explore.

Regarding colors, K.I.S.s. ;) The three-color design looks more like an illustration than a logo/trademark. Be careful not to cross the line. Take a look at it with the sun and its rays the same color.

For the benefit of those whose vision is poor, squint at the version with the black background. You will see that the blue shades are much too dark. You are virtually hiding all your good art. Many times corporate logos have an established color scheme plus versions for black-and-white backgrounds and single-color usage. However, since weather changes, I would propose a monochromatic version like the blue one but change the color scheme with the seasons. Or maybe something more subtle like dark clouds in winter and lighter blue clouds in other seasons.

In summary, fix kerning; open up character spacing against black; see if you can subtly tie in logotype to symbol; simplify colors.
