I dunno--maybe it's in the ways many of us use our mobile devices, but, when we switched to iOS it wasn't a sea change. Sure, iOS was different, but it was mainly a case of learning to get around.

The big differences have been the integration with other Apple devices, which is unmatched, and the Apple Watch--also unmatched.

We'll almost certainly be going back to Android. There are a couple things I'll miss about iOS, but a couple things I'll be happy to have back on Android.

All-in-all, I don't think it'll be a big deal, either way.

This is what I have found...I get along just fine with my gaming PC, surface pro, Pixel 5a, and active2 watch. In some ways it is actually even better.

I never got sucked into the ecosystem so the switch is pretty easy for me.

I have an Android TV television (Sony X900F), Android TV streaming device (Nvidia Shield TV), Amazon Fire Stick 4K to take when I want to bring streaming somewhere else, Amazon Kindle Fire HD 10 (2018) that I don’t use, 1st Gen Apple TV 4K which I don’t use because I don’t like how Kodi works on it and it doesn’t go to sleep when my TV does, iPad Mini 5 for games, and an LG G8 I picked up last year to run Android apps on.

I have no real anchors to either side. I have to replace my TV remote app and my budget app is $3.50 but I just got it for $2.50 because Play Store gave me a $1 off offer when I canceled the purchase (was just trying to see how much it was) so I took that for $2.66 with tax. Everything synced with Dropbox no problem so I’m good to go.

I did the switch. Since November 2019, I am no longer using the iPhone as my main smartphone. Since then, I had an Asus ROG Phone II, a Samsung S20+, a Samsung M51, and now a Poco F3.

I had tried Android phones in the past and they were terrible. But now they are good. I barely notice the difference when using them. I have to say that the main drive for the switch was price. I am currently using a Poco F3 with 256 GB storage for which I paid $560. The 64 GB iPhone 12 mini costs $940 here in Brazil. The regular 256 GB iPhone 12 (the bare minimum for my needs) would cost me some $1240. As I am not willing to pay these absurd prices, I got a medium-range smartphone that performs much like a flagship for a fraction of the cost.

For me I don't know if it's possible. For us techies there is lots to like between Apple and Android devices. So far I'm managing both an iPhone 12 mini and a FOLD 3. It's working so far?

Calls, texts, payments, passes on the iPhone. Social Media, books, browsing, drawing, movies, gaming on the FOLD 3. If I want to go out "lighter" I just leave my iPhone at home and use my AppleWatch out and about.

Having an iPad just seems redundant now so I got rid of my iPad 12.9 and probably give the iPad mini to a member of my family.
