Really? When I switched to an arca plate I just ordered the one black rapid sell with the folding loop. Works great.

I was looking before they made one....I did buy one tho...(i did mention it was my thing!!). When I upgraded my DSLR I moved my fusion plate to my new camera and I bought a BR one to go on my old camera.

I found with the BR that the when I took the strap off (and i often used it with out the strap) the loop was loose and it just rattled all the time and drove me bannanas!

They look good. Might order one! My Mrs won't mind. I'm allowed to make purchases!

Air travel and hiking looking for some type of bag.

The 32 litre Gura Gear (now made by Tamrac) is comfortable to hike with and will fit the size limits of most airline carry-on restrictions. Weight is another matter entirely but I've found that a backpack on your back is less likely to draw attention to excess weight than a bag with wheels that your'e pulling.

I have a couple of the Gura Gear version bags and they're great. Don't know about quality since they were bought-out by Tamrac. I also don't know if it would carry all your gear as that depends on the size of your lenses. But, if you plan on using it to carry on a plane, your greatest restriction is size and weight and not what you want to take with you.

Hello!

I'm having a hard time locating a specific camera bag for my needs. I'm looking for a bag that can hold 3 DSLRs with attached lenses (medium and large) and offers quick access!

Any recommendations?

I think you're asking a bit too much from your bag / case with those requirements. Air travel (hard case), hiking (lightweight but rugged and versatile) and convenient ease of use with not one or two mounted cameras but THREE?

One rule of thumb from one professional to another (assuming you are by your kit needs), why would you ever want to travel with a medium or telephoto lens mounted to the camera? I understand it when on location (in which case it's a moot point as you can always come back to the kit bag to swap) but to travel between location A and B with long lenses attached? That's risky / amateurish / bordering on silly.

And here's that rule: always dismount your lenses (especially teles) when moving between locations. Always.

Sounds like good advice.

Good advice! I learned the hard ($600 repair) way when my bag fell out of the back hatch of the car with a D810 attached to a 500. I was so PO'd at myself when I opened the bag and found bits of plastic and metal from the camera lens mount rolling around in the bag. Would have been fine if they were stored separately in the bag.

You posted this yesterday... I havent stopped crying yet... what idiot checks in a £7K lens!?!?!
I thought it might have been you!

There mistake was
Putting it in hold.
Leaving lens attached.
Buying a Leica!

All point to having more money than sense. Plus they are from Manchester.

Heeey, nothing wrong with Leicas - I own two, they're fantastic cameras: one M4 and one Q. Two of the best cameras I've ever used.

But seriously, checking in a lens into your luggage? A camera body I can understand - I've done the same when I'm pushed to repack at check-in because my carry-on is overweight - but lenses, tsk tsk. And then leaving that lens attached...

My own horror story: back as a budding professional with a less-than-one-week-old D700 and 70-200mm f/2.8 (I thought I needed it) I had my camera on me as I went out for dinner (where's the strikethrough when you need it MacRumors?) and drinks with my best friend. Long story short, I threw a dart at a wall and spun round in time to catch the sight of my D700 and 70-200 slide off a bar table and crack open on the floor...

A USD$600 lesson later. Never drink and operate expensive machinery; don't attach lenses to cameras in situations where they don't belong.

Sounds like you need a shoulder bag or sling. A sling bag you can set on the ground and pick out what you need. You can also carry over your shoulder. Down side is that it would be heavy with 3 bodies and lenses. I have one of the Crumpler Proper Roady that I can hold two bodies, however it would be tight when I added a flash or other accessories.

You could search on B&H photo. There you can narrow down your search. I found these for you.

Good luck. I don't think you can find just one bag though.

OI! I have loads of sense! this person was an absolute clown but looking at the commentary it does raise a valid question. If you were to pack it in the hold, you would cushion it ALOT. so what the hell happened to it to cause this much damage while wrapped in clothes in a suitcase!?! That suitcase must have fallen out at 35,000 feet or something and so where it it? For that lens to be that trashed, whatever bag it was in must be destroyed too, so show that also. Look at the lens barrel and it is undamaged yet the way the filter has been dented, that much force would have surely wrecked the lens hood at least? I think this is a carefully constructed insurance scam I am afraid... I may be wrong but it looks suspect to me.

M9, MM, 2009 camera still fighting strong in 2017. You know me, I buy lots of toys and these two are the ONLY ones I wouldn't dream of parting with... even an M10, SL or Q would be "as well as" not "instead of"... so there must be some magic there somewhere... - just wish I was good enough to capture some of that magic WITH them! lol!

Have to agree it does look a tad suspicious.

As for the Nikon, when they release their superior f-mount mirrorless I'll know you'll be queuing up!

FWIW, I have a Lowepro Stealth Reporter D650AW, which I don't think is made anymore.

I can fit two large SLRs with large lenses attached(I've carried my F5 and D2x, for example) but three large SLRs is pushing it. You might squeeze a third small one without a lens in, but that's it.

I have also, at times, carried an RB67 kit in it(one body with waist level, 2-3 backs including the one on the camera, and a 65mm, 90mm, and 250mm) and that's a tight squeeze.

As a shoulder bag, when loaded up with heavy equipment it's also pretty darn heavy. I tend to leave stuff out of it when I want to work out of it from my shoulder.

In terms of access-the entire top does open/fold back but it has a weather sealed zipper down the middle of the top. You can access most of the interior of the bag through that.

Fully loaded up like that, it's a big and heavy bag.
