how do you like your osx wind? I was thinking about getting one to complement a new imac. i have an older macbook pro now and its less then ideal for portability. Is the osx wind sufficent for just some internet and word processing? I'm probably gonna get either that or an air

Honestly, I love my OS X Wind also. Obviously, it is no MBA, but it has such a small footprint even if it is thicker than the MBA. I find that it handles internet, word processing, and standard def video well. I've typed and revised my resume, browsed countless websites (including this one), and watched a couple season of Battlestar Galactica and some movies on it. It is about the size of a portable DVD player, so I REALLY like that. I get at least 4 hours of battery when doing a balanced combination of these tasks.

I would recommend a bluetooth mouse for the Wind. The trackpad is workable, but it can be frustrating. And I like Windows 7 on my Wind about as well or better than OS X for what I use it for (really just learning OS X, though).

Now that I have an Air, I might not keep the Wind. I will just have to see how my usage works. I will not keep something if it sits collecting dust. I would rather sell it and put the money to use somewhere else.

Anyway, the Wind is awesome. I just got my MBA and have quickly found out that it is much better (and much more expensive, too). But the Wind makes a fantastic secondary machine for someone (snappy, great screen, very small). My MBA is going to be my primary (for now at least).

Hope that info helps.

Edit - Just to give you a little more advice based on my experience and from reading this site, you can't go wrong between the MBA revA or the Wind for a portable secondary machine. Deciding between the two depends on what your needs are. If I had the extra dough, I would get the Air instead of the Wind even if all I planned to do was browse the internet and type documents.

yea it really comes down to money at this point, being a mac fanboy i'd obviously rather have the Air but sometimes its just not feasible. Especially since I want to buy a new iMac and probably wont get much money for selling a Rev A Macbook Pro

Well, the Wind does not have the MBA build quality, but you will be very happy with it for the price. Heck, I don't think I'm keeping my Wind since I bought my MBA, let me know if you are interested in it.:D
