im right around $2100 and the computer feels almost exactly the same as my 6 core d700 that i payed $4500 dollars for. I was able to sell the nMP for $3900 last month

I used to have a stock 12 core 2.66 before i sold it right before what seems as nose dive in cmp prices on ebay for $3000 and bought the nMP and i regretted that decision and now am happy i came back.
I love everything internal and knowing that my gpu is not obsolete as fast as the d700 are gonna be is great.

what was the problem with nMP?

nothing was wrong with the computer. i just should of been more informed and should of done more research on the computer and how it would of suited my needs.

I dislike external storage.
I dislike amd. I use the adobe suite and cuda. I also want to be able to game with the newest graphics cards with all the bells and whistles like g-sync. This is after i sold my gaming pc to downsize.

I also really dislike thunderbolt technology since experiencing lots of the little stupid things that using thunderbolt peripherals bring.

We have a MUCH better solution for 4,1/5,1 machines.

All internal, invisible, and no $5 antennas hanging around inside the machine.

We were first and still best answer for this.

If only they were in stock ;)

what was the problem with nMP?

I pretty much agree with everything he said. Not that there's anything 'wrong' with the nMP, but as someone who does quite a bit of gaming, the D300/500/700 are completely inadequate. Not only are they outdated by even today's standards, they are focused toward Maya/CAD work and not consumer use. That alone makes the nMP a non starter for me. It's absolutely insane, if Apple would just *OFFER* a non-garbage graphics card as an option for CTO, it would open up the nMP to a whole new category of buyers.
