Not a lot “under the hood” with iOS17 / iPadOS17 changing… i feel like the beta process will be fairly painless… lots of cosmetic changes not a lot else…

So - bring on beta 1!

I’m looking forward to a hopefully more stable iOS 17! Glad we at least got interactive widgets

I think they're only interactive on iPad OS, or am I wrong?

For me, offline Apple Maps will be useful, but what about those alternative app stores & sidelining in the EU? Not a word during the presentation.

Those are coming in a later update like 17.3 or so as the EU law is not enforced until mid 2024 if I remember correctly.

How could you tell there are not a lot under the hood changes as you cannot look - well - under the hood yet? 🤪

Well, for one… at a dev conference…

they didn't talk about anything… i know, crazy speculation…

Apple never really talked about under the hood changes during those keynote videos. They are done for the bling bling by marketing guys and girls.

The real dev stuff is going on in person during the WWDC-week (that’s why that is a whole week long and not just a keynote).

I was all prepared to download iOS 17 asap but don’t even care now since it’s exactly the same as iOS 16.

Total fail.

Maybe you‘ve got to adjust your expectations? ;)

It was pretty much well known that iOS 17 won’t be a „big one“ since all resources have been focused on Vision Pro / visionOS.
Yeah i thought this was pretty much in line with what most were saying

They announced them with iPadOS because it flowed more smoothly and, frankly, gave them more to talk about with the iPadOS section. A lot of the things announced for iPadOS are coming to iOS too, like the new lock screen options and font weight adjustment, interactive widgets, PDF features, etc.

On iOS too, quite a few features overlap. 🖐️

Meh... Android has this years ago. This is the first year that I skipped WWDC, iOS 17 is such a boring update, it seems that Apple copied a bunch of ideas from Google's Pixel...

And I am not happy with dropping iPhone X and iPhone 8. There aren't so many new staffs in iOS 17 for Apple to drop iPhone X and iPhone 8.
