20" becomes the new low end, 250 Gig HD, 1 gig Ram (single chip)
23 " New middle of the line, 500 Gig HD,1 gig Ram (single chip), better graphics card
30" Black imac, 500 Gig HD, 2 gig Ram, better graphics card

Same form factor with a few tweaks.

At first I thought, Wuh 30" is far too big. However, since I think you are just copying over the ACD sizes I guess its possible.

I don't see a 30" iMac coming anytime soon. Would have to start at $2599. No one is going to pay that for a stock config iMac. It's more than a Mac Pro. I wouldn't put a 27" out of the question, but I don't see anything bigger than that being marketable at the price they would have to charge to make it profitable.

the 30 inch would cost as much as a mac pro w/ a 20in screen! there will most certianly not be a 30 inch iMac, even though i would sell... well. everything. to afford one. This is the consumer line, and having a stock 250 - 500 GB hard drive on a consumer machine, in a consumer budget, isnt possible. But, i like the way you think! :)

No matter what everyone says, the 17" is here to stay for the foreseeable future. While we all think the 17" is ridiculous (I regret my decision), most normal people don't want a display that (20") big.

Well I hope its here for a bit longer as I just bought one hoping to use it for 6 months or so till the new 24" comes along then I will sell the (almost new) 17" I just bought yesterday and take a small hit on it... and finally get my 24" I have been waiting for.
I figured like you said... most people don't want/need anything larger than a 17" right now. I hope that was the right choice. I am hoping I will lose the least in a resale situation with the 17" iMac. I needed to edit a few videos now before the 24" has come out and I couldn't wait any longer.

Love the speed of this thing though!
my last iMac was the 17" G5 iMac revision "a" and this one smokes that one!
17" iMac C2D 2.0

I'm on a 15" monitor for now and while I could do without the need to full-screen everything and have extra space, it's not terrible.
What's so bad about the 17"?

The logic board on my imac g5 died last week apparently. As a result of that im using a crappy powermac g4 running 10.1.5. More importatly im desperate for a new imac. Theres going to have to be an imac update at WWDC beacuse september was ages ago. And was it 2004 that the present shape was introduced. I thought the original shuffle got a bit old but the imac is 3 years old and the video ipod is a year and a half old. Come on new imacs please. Im desperate.

There is nothing wrong with the 17". I have one and its a good size and fits nicely on my desk. I personally hope they dont phase it out.

The 17" is not bad, but I did find it hard on the eyes and working in video or photoshop is a pain. The 20" is much more comfortable, and when you spend the hours I do on a computer the screen size is important.

No, what I"m saying is, most people don't want a 20" display. 17" 16:10, in my opinion, is the sweet spot in desktop displays right now. Many people on here think that they should get rid of the 17" iMac, but what I was trying to say was that it's a perfect size for most people.

WWDC is a pro event. You have never seen a consumer model at WWDC. I don't think you will begin seeing it this year.

Apple likes to change the rules to keep people guessing. Having said that I think we will have a silent upgrade before WWDC. My spider sense is tingling and I think it will be this week.:D

*GASP* Is this the rumoured black iMac?!
Is that a new G4-style mini-computer? No wonder they haven't updated the Mini in so long!

Nevermind, it's just funny lighting.

I'm not really sold on the black, on the current iMac case at least. I'd be willing to see a redesign in black but I think it would look naff on the current model.

In the same way that new black xbox360 looks rubbish.

Just my opinion. :D

True. Personally, I'd like to see a 15" widescreen iMac.
