I did more testings and unfortunately it appear that the issue reoccurred... until I realised it was my iPad Pro's touchscreen having problems again.

I will retest it with the replacement iPad, hopefully there should be no more problems!

What if you only use official Apple AC adapters?

I have at least 2 dozen iOS devices at work (an assortment of iPads ranging from iPad 2 all the up to iPad Pro 12.9" 2nd gen, iPod Touches 4th gen to 6th gen, iPhones from 3G to XS Max) + my own home devices (iPad mini 2 that I bought years ago, iPad Pro 10.5" that replaced an Air and iPhone 8 than replaced a 6 that replaced a 5, 4 then 3G) and have never had these problems. Yeah, yeah, older devices uses the 30-pin connector.

(I just realized you said 12.9... At work, of the Pros, I have 4 12.9" Pros, but only one is 2nd gen and a refurb that was bought a several months ago. I have at least 2 10.5" Pros at work.)

I test software on iOS, so I have to have a lot. And, unfortunately, we have to keep some old devices around w/older iOS versions. :( We can't just upgrade them all to the latest they support.

Are you putting constant stress on the port/connector/accessories attached to it?

Good points and questions, thanks!

1. I use mostly an Aukey charger but also use Apple AC adapters sometimes. No difference from what I can see but I once noticed similar issues with badly designed chargers. The Apple Store staff also ruled out charging issues for causing such touchscreen issues but still advised me to use the charger that was sold with the iPad Pro only due to better charging times instead of the iPhone's

2. I made sure that I was not stressing out the connector; I noticed that the Lightning port can be quite physically unsound compared to USB C in certain circumstances but then again, same can be said for USB C. I made sure the device lies flat during charging and also that the cables are not exerting any force on the connector (which is possible if the cable is heavy enough and placed in a certain manner like device on table but cable on floor except for the connector)

3. Thanks for testing your apps in this manner! Having the actual device helps a lot more than just doing this in virtual machines
