No it’s an Amazon band. Cheap and cheerful, but secure. Yep, needs to have the button to release and even then it’s only partially open so can’t simply fall off.

But the Nike bands are also incredibly secure in my experience.
Ohhh a link bracelet in titanium? That’s what we wished Apple released in the series of Apple Watch Ultra bands.

Yes Nike bands are secure ngl. I own the gym red bright crimson sport band and it’s my first Nike band. A secure one, too. Just like the regular sport band.

I am eyeballing for any reflective or the upcycled nylon ones for 41/40mm.

If you ever get fishing hooks, carabiners, or other metal objects stuck on it while hiking, fishing, or off-roading, it’ll be super easy to unclasp. Leather and magnetic links are really attracted to metal, and they can even mess up your compass if you use it on your Ultra in addition to GPS. Here’s a disclaimer on the back of my Ink Leather Link box:

Do you still have the strap that came with your Ultra? The Alpine loop and trail loop are great for your outdoor adventures.
I really don’t like the alpine loop. I never find it comfortable. I have a loop band, which I’ll wear more!

I agree that the Alpine Loop accentuates the fact that the Apple Watch Ultra looks bulky on small wrists. I’ve seen videos comparing the Ultra straps on Apple Watches worn in real life, and it’s true that they don’t match well for anything other than camping, hunting, fishing, or hiking.🥾

However, on other Apple Watches that aren’t Ultras, the other three Ultra straps look good regardless. If 46/45mm were an option to me, I’d go ahead and get the blue and green trail loops and put them on a Series 10. It’s not too bad! I can fit the larger regular Series watches on my wrist without worrying about them being too big. I just have to wear small straps; the m/l 45/46 sport band I can’t fit in it. I can fit size small trail loops I just need to pull it all the way up. I can’t waste my strap collection that I’ve been doing for 8 years. I like the Ultra Milanese loop; despite its thickness, it’s still quite good for regular Apple Watches.

When I tried the Ultra, I actually found the ocean band very comfortable. It's also very secure, that thing is never going to come off inadvertently. I wish Apple would make something like that with lighter materials.

man I really hope the last know location is accurate!!! There’s literally no one up there when we were there so I hope no one will pick it up.
Well, if someone would pick it up and put it on a charger, which probably everyone would do finding an empty AW (and having a charger for it), you‘d have a better chance at getting it back, it would be closer to a pathed road, has power and can probably send a signal.

Actually the last location became accurate.. When I realized it was missing it was closer to the entrance of the yellow post campsite. But the next day when someone passed by the location was updated at 9am exactly at the spot I remember we stopped in the yellow post campsite.

Definitely. As a person who loves caring and helping Apple devices and even diagnosing issues from them, I keep a tech pouch in my purse filled with a USB-C adapter, a USB-C to lightning cable for my AirPods or to charge an iPhone 14 (Pro) or earlier, a keychain Apple Watch charging puck, a USB C to C cable, polishing cloth and a 3-in-1 cable. I also bring a MagSafe power bank. So when folks have iPhones and watches that are low on battery or if I need to test something I am ready!

Ultras battery life are very hardy even if slightly degraded in terms of battery health, so it still survived even after 3-4 days of being lost. If the AW is not on the wrist it can still relay cellular connection and Bluetooth for system functions especially Find My.
