Lots of Intel apps - should I not upgrade?

I've been getting tons of warnings that many of my Intel-based apps running on my M4 won't run in Golden Gate. They are essential apps for work.
Should I not update to Golden Gate?

The warning doesn't say Golden Gate; it says a future version of macOS. You've got a year to find replacements.

Sounds like the OP should be able to update to GG and be able to count on 3 years of support on GG.

Thanks for clarifying. Still, it's going to be a brutal transition. I'm still recovering from Lion dropping PPC apps.

Have you considered looking for alternate apps? Not sure what you're using. If developer stopped upgrading from Intel it's probably a good idea to drop it...they've had at least 5+ years to make a universal binary version...or run it in Virtual machine with windows if it's really a required app

I don't think I can... some are Intel-based video games. Others use wine, emulating 32-bit apps.
Game devs don't tend to bother updating these things.

From what I understand, Apple will be supporting Crossover's providing x86 emulation in their products and would likely be supporting WINE emulating x86 as well.

Rosetta will still be around for old video games even in macOS 28. Wine will adapt too.

How are old Intel-based video games "are essential apps for work"? Time to move on. Devs had 5+ years to adapt. This is like asking can we run PPC code on Intel.

Get a PC if you want to run Intel games. You'll 100% find the PC versions of whatever games you're using on PC.

32bit also died a long time ago.
