Does this just happen with your m1 ipad?

insert a small pin into the hole just about the driver ans clean the contacts

NB: my headphones did die a week or so later so consider that

I see. The Apple AirPods Max is behaving fine again today. I wonder if it is related to the latest firmware update, because this is the first time I have experienced this.

I've gotten to the point where I try to reboot everything that I can after an update. Even when reboots aren't necessary. Once, on the phone with Microsoft I was instructed to install an update, no reboot required. It didn't fix the issue. Agent at MS swore no reboot was required. We tried a few things, and nothing worked. I rebooted, and the guy was irritated. 'It's not required!'. It came back up, and was fine. ALWAYS REBOOT, if possible. It works... Maybe that should be a mantra?

Got a new pair today - there’s a microphone in the speaker grill which wasn’t there on the previous ones - not sure why but regardless the new ones do not exhibit any problems yet
