No no no. You're imagining it. There's a problem with the gyro you see. An unspecified problem. An unspecified problem he declined to back up in any way
I guess the Google search was to complicated for you. Ergo, here you go. Yep, obviously not an issue at all. All these posts and people complaining about the issue are some fictitious demographic, right?

I've heard the brightness on the pebble isn't great. Was that user error or is there an issue with the pebble time/time round in direct sunlight or average room light?
The e-ink display is crap indoors, under artificial lighting. Outdoors is where it shines.

If I find posts on the Internet referencing flat tires on an E Class because I search for posts on 'flat tires on an E Class' does that somehow mean that I can expect a flat tire on any given E Class? It would be stupid of me to follow that line of "logic" unless I'm, say, a moron or alternatively, worse, a moron with an agenda

If you search for {X} with problem {Y} you will more than likely find it on Google. News at 11

I've heard people complain that the display takes too long to come on when you raise your wrist to see the time. I've never heard anyone say that the display fails to come on when you raise your wrist.

Sometimes, yes. Occasionally it takes a fraction of a second, hell, maybe even a half second at it's very worst to display. Let's be honest, the guy is essentially posting about a device he never owned and never intended to own. His complaints are internet echo chamber nonsense, third generation photocopies of other people's complaints that never owned, or intended to own it either.

In his world you have to "contort" your arm to place a watch vaguely near a payment pad. Perhaps it's some kind of brittle bone disease or perhaps its just the usual neckbeard android fanboy smug nonsense that seems to make up 50% of posts and posters on macrumors at this point. it's an exercise for the reader to decide.

I don't have any issues raising my wrist to see the time. It doesn't take long at all and always works. I've heard a few people moaning about the length of time it takes for the display to come on.

Regarding the payments from the Apple Watch. Before I tried it I thought it would be awkward but it isn't at all. It's really easy and quick. Using my iPhone to pay seems cumbersome and slow now. I always use my watch.

There are no issues with the display. It's e-ink so the visibility is miles better than any other display out there & not to mention the insane battery life.

I've never used a pebble before but I've been using e-ink readers for years on my kindles and I've never had any issues with visibility. My kindles have always been visible in all lighting conditions and now even in the dark as they have front lighting.

Wow. You ask for information on the issue and I give it to you. You then bury your head in the sand and go out in left field with a response that has no bearing what so ever on the conversation. We call this living in a reality distortion field. If Apple tells you the sky is green, you will defend that position to the end of time, facts and evidence be damned.

I leave you lemmings to propagate in your field. I'm not bothering with this any further.

Do you know what living in a reality distortion field is?

It's sticking your fingers in your ears when people who actually own a product tell you they don't have the issue you claim, based on their being non-zero results on Google, that every owner of the product has.

It's turning up in a thread about a company having to recall 2.5m phones because it has no clue which might explode and likening it to a sporadic issue with touch response.

Its registering at a Mac/Apple rumor site and posting thousands of anti-Apple messages in an effort to...? I don't even know what motivates this.

That's living in a reality distortion field.

The Apple Watch was definitely a surprise for me. I can't even wear it to work and I still find it useful. It is the biggest reason I haven't made the switch to the note. The gear s2 is the only other smart watch that intrigues me but I'm still not sure about it. My wife is not a tech geek like me, and she never takes her Apple Watch (that I bought as a gift for her) off.

Uh, the screen comes on when you lift it. Do you not know this?

Stop wasting your time and the other person's time being obnoxiously difficult and ostensibly confused. You know damn well what his point is, and you just perceive the severity of the issue differently in your experience with the watch. Moving on, children.

I owned the Apple Watch for about one year. I found the fraction of time it takes to light up, and the fraction of occurrences of failing to light up when or how I wanted it to, one of the largest, and a significant, frustration of usability. It is okay that we disagree. My point is no less valid than yours. It means that we have different perceptions and desires. All in all, I have a very love-hate relationship with the Apple Watch, but I miss owning it and would wear one again (I would not honestly consider any other smart watch on the market at the moment—they are ****ing hideous).

I still have the first gen now known as series 0. The series 2 is supposed to be significantly faster. I wonder if the speed at which it lights up is faster. I'm thinking of updating my watch after the March event as it's showing it's age now.

Again our opinions differ, I think some of the android wear watches look pretty nice. However I don't like the OS and I think that the Apple Watch has the best overall feature set on the market and more importantly it works best with the iPhone

What I would prefer is the option to keep the screen on. As batteries improve, dimming the light should make always-on a practicality. We shall see. I would especially use this during work hours and workouts, and turn off always-on during other times in order to reserve battery.

It's possible as the latest generation Samsung watches have an always on display and have excellent battery life. If the battery life wasn't compromised then I would also prefer the display to be always on the Apple Watch with the option to dim it when appropriate.

I have the Gear S2 classic and the sport one (with 4G connectivity). And I had an Apple Watch original Stainless steel 38 mm that seems to have gone AWOL since I got back from my last trip out of town in October. I either left it behind somehow or I misplaced it when I unpacked. :(

I'm so torn between Android and IOS. I'm torn between the phones, the watches. It's insane. This isn't what I had envisioned for myself when I decided to try Android last year. I'm just thankful I have two lines (two phone sims) and can manage to use both. And thank goodness for call forwarding.

iMessage seems to be the sticking point for me, if I didn't have to be connected to so many people who refuse to use anything else, I'd not have to have an iOS device around at all times.

I prefer to wear Apple watches when I want to get fit. The compulsion to fill the rings keeps me from getting too pudgy. Since misplacing my Apple Watch I've gained a few pounds back. But the step counter on my Gear watches is good, too. My Gear watches nag me if I'm on my butt too long.

I basically just like the watches for telling the time, tracking fitness, weather, and a few bits of news and other notifications and emergency texting. The watches on both platforms do that well enough for me. They're both attractive. Just when I think I've started to prefer one, I find myself missing the other.

Although I don't see any lag in my AW lighting up, I agree it's a bit frustrating at how often my AW doesn't turn on when I put my hand up. I have a good grasp of when it lights up though, at what angle my wrist needs to be at, but sometimes I just can't get it at that angle because maybe I'm doing something with my hands. Hopefully Apple puts in an always on screen with their next AW.

Pretty much the same for me. I will add that the greater the need to see the time, or other info on the watch, seems to be the greater the chance it won't come on. Maybe when stressed my movements are different. :)

My new LG Watch is roughly the same as my Apple Watch as far as turning on the display using raise-to-wake, albeit it can be set to always on screen (watchfaces have a separate, simplified and usually mono, face for always on). I generally have always on screen turned off since I don't want to waste battery for something I am not looking at.

Like my Apple Watch, my Sport's display occasionally fails to turn on. But a quick 45 degree flick of the wrist turns it on without issue. (I think the Apple Watch does that too but I didn't know it and always lowered and re-raised my arm/wrist when the display failed to turn on.)

The main reasons I went for the Sport was that it has an LTE radio should I need to leave my phone behind (or simply forget it) and the fact that it is not married to one platform. It works with iOS or Android. I have only had it a little over a week and am still getting used to it but right now I'd say my Apple Watch is more polished and has better battery life (granted the Sport has LTE).

Personally I think if a smartwatch doesn't have an always on display then it's a fail right out of the gate, once again just my personal opinion. I do use an AW myself so I guess it didn't fail enough for me not to fork over my money for it, but it's still a fail IMO.

That LTE radio must be nice, I hope Apple catches up next time around with the rest of the industry. I'm not in love with my AW, but I'm back with an iPhone so have little choice, plus it fits my frankenrolex just right.

Yea LTE is nice but in a way it feels like a waste since 99% of the time I will have my phone with me, and don't need the watch's LTE. But I also have not run into one of those times where, say, I run to the supermarket for something quick or go for a quick run/walk and forget or, don't bother to take, my phone. I'm hoping I won't feel as lost by at least having my watch. :)

As far as always on display, no smartwatch aside from transflective sport watches have true always on displays that are the same as their on-demand faces. They have fewer elements, dimmer brightness, less or no color, and usually no second hand. Out in the sun here in AZ the always on faces are often too dim to be useful, yet at night bright enough to be annoying. So for now I'd rather it be off (for NOW). There is a face I use that has a very minimalistic always on display that I sorta like, and is not bad for the battery. Still, with battery tech where it is now it is hard for me to justify wasting it for always on. I also wear my watch for sleep tracking and that dim always on face turns into a blinding beacon at night which does not please my wife lol.
