I find the LTE version is very useful for traveling outside of the US. In Europe I was able to get a 30 day/2 GB plan for about $15. Because my iPhone is carrier locked, I would have to buy a very expensive roaming plan from ATT. Instead, I tethered my iPhone to my iPad and used the iPad plan for data.

Also, I did not want to walk around holding a big iPad when using maps, so I just put the iPad in my briefcase and walked around with my iPhone as if it was directly connected to the cell network.

I am note sure why I felt that I needed the LTE version, but that is what I had purchased. In the event I might need it during travel and dont want to link to iphone.

I have T-Mobile One Plus on my phone, which provides more than enough high-speed data for my monthly tethering needs. Saves me the $150 investment and $20/month charge to just get the WiFi model and tether when necessary. I did get the LTE model when I bought the 9.7” Pro, but that’s when T-Mobile had 200MB of free monthly tablet data. Don’t think I ever utilized it for more than that.

They don’t have that anymore? I’m still rocking it on my 9.7” pro

I couldn’t tell you all of that maybe you should give them a call, but I’m pretty sure you just have to purchase the Sim card and I think you can do whatever you want with it with the data plan

Yeah I’ll definitely do that. Thanks for your help!
