has windows phone finally separated ringer volume from media volume?

They haven't really done many changes. 8.1 is supposed to get a handful of improvements, including a real notifications section, among other things. My greatest pet peeve is that I can neither add my own text tones nor can I set individual text tones for different contacts. Being that I use texts as a means of communication for work, this is a deal breaker, as a daily driver, for me.

Hey, if you're gonna sell the phone (and it can be unlocked), I'll take it as a cheap backup :)

That's my feeling as well. Dang thing is sold out everywhere too. Thinking ill try my luck with a spare battery when I get around to it haha. Not my daily driver, so in not stressing about it too much.

I am pretty sure t-Mobile and Microsoft stores have them but it would be a pretty good Father's Day gift so I'd say folks shouldn't wait and check there asap if they are in the market for one.

I'm either going to keep the 820 or return it. I am going to pass on the 521.

They don't have the 521 around here unfortunately. At least they didn't when I was calling around.

If you can hear the phone go off, how hard is it to push a button and see who texted? Seems like a very finicky thing to not use an OS for.

I'm a DVM and I have my nurses text me when something is needed of me. If the phone is, for example, across the room while I am making dinner and a text comes through, I want to be able to hear whether its an important one. It's a convenience thing. Being that there are operating systems that have this function which I use on an almost daily basis, I don't see it as finicky at all. Windows phone doesn't really do anything better than the competition at this point in time, so the way I see it, all I am doing is making sacrificed, no matter how little, when I don't need to be.

Anyway, thanks for reading my review.
