I just received my 24" 2021 iMac and I am happy with the sound of the speakers. I have the iMac in a small room and the music only gets played very softly. For my setup it fine. Of course it no where near the quality of my sound system in our living room but for my small space it working out well.

I'va had my M1 iMac for a couple days. The speakers are ok but mostly suck, at the beginning I somewhat thought they could be faulty. Bass is ok, mids are ok, it's the treble that is mushy and confused, harsh and unpleasant, and worsens the more you turn up the volume.

I don't know how you can say it isn't loud though, I'm sitting close to it in a small room and I can't go past half volume before going deaf, and pushing them over 50% volume really decreases audio quality.

They sound ok at low volume though, for work and background music I generally never go over 3 clicks so it's fine.

It's marketing for Apple to would claim these are the best speakers ever in a Mac.
But they are truly not.
The 27" iMac speakers much better than the ones in the new 24" iMac.

Oh, also, my right speaker sounds more muffled than the left one, which is more sparkly with less bass. I noticed this using the iMac normally these days, but only realized it fully now, playing with the balance slider because I thought I was crazy. They definitely sound different. Sucks

I think all built speakers are a compromise for convenience and should not be used for serious listening. Basic laws of physics limit the bass response due to diameter and excursion required for real bass below 100Hz.

So just mines sounds uneven like this right?

Not a fan of the speakers at all. The iMac Pro makes these things sound like a tin can. They don't even sound that great to me. Muffled and zero bass.
