Any place but here or there....
It’s not, but it has a more powerful SOC in it,is the heat causing issues? Or just feels hotter?
okay, thanks for the correction re: thinner. Sadly, the heat is causing issues (glitches in Procreate, pencil lags and doesn’t respond etc.)

Not happy about that, but I’ll hang in. No matter what iPad I use Procreate with, it’s the same issue...☹️

This may be some of the best info out besides my thread saying they weren’t worth the money....that is a serious problem and another reason I’m holding off for a better choice

Which color do you have and are you using casing? I got an black iPhone 11 the other day and it overheats in warm sunny environment. My white iPhone 6 did never overheat in similar conditions.

Playing demanding battery draining games makes a A10X feel warm, not hot.

It is space grey and yes I have a thin casing - admittedly that is probably part of the problem

Ever since I put auto-brightness on and set the brightness to max (instead of leaving it almost completely darkened out after you enabled auto-brightness), I haven’t had many instances of the iPad screen dimming like it was doing before. I think maybe 3 times or so. At least now I know it isn’t a defect. I’m thrilled that it’s not an issue anymore.

EDIT: I’ve noticed that the screen dimming happens mostly when I’m browsing this site. Is it because of the ads or something? I saw that people were saying MacRumors was putting a strain on their iPad Pros, so I was curious as to why and how to remedy it. My screen didn’t dim for several hours before I started browsing the forums and then I was on here less than 30 minutes and it dimmed twice almost in a row.

Use a content blocker quick. This site is horrible on battery.

Funny, my son just asked me why his M1 11” was running hot. Temp inside 78, but it was running warm.

Perhaps it’s a software bug?

No it’s over chipped for the cooling structure...simple...there was like 0 reason to put that in there except for Apple to offload leftover inventory and jack price

Well, that’s a shame.

If this persists, then we might see an update to throttle it down a touch.

Who knows…

The 11" iPad Pro has the exact same price as its predecessor …

I hope this isn’t too far off topic, but does anyone else notice just how aggressively the forum kills your device’s battery? Is it all the annoying ads?
Yep, here you go, I've stopped using this site/forum on my iPhone/iPad and I'm going to stop using it on my Mac until they make the site more efficient or reduce the amount of ads they've got on here.

The cellular model is more expensive than the 2020 version, but one could just assume it’s because the 2021 version is 5G as opposed to 4G. Seems lame to jack up the price for 5G, but oh well.

It is the same with iPhone and MacBook Pro, they become super hot in direct sunlight. Which is why I don’t use them on the beach.

Got to squeeze the oranges when they are ripe. No one likes sour orange juice. 5G is the flashy new thing. Not too shocking they are juicing us for it.

Oh they put a faster iPad chip into an iPad. That explains it!

I would say that simply my 10.5 never felt hot no matter how I was using it. With the M1, you can definitely notice it in extreme conditons.
My 10.5 also dims due to thermal throttle in room temperature while taking notes with an Apple Pencil.

Even with content blocker, I only visit the site in my MacBook Air, because it will heat up my iPhone 13. When I first got the iPhone, I was disappointed with battery life, until I figured out this site was draining it.
