After 5 days with my new MacBook Pro I realize there is a major design issue Apple has overlooked:

The machine is almost always cold to the touch. Almost every time I want to use it as a literal laptop, on my lap in shorts, I get that feeling of cold metal on my skin that lasts for a while.

It's gotten to the point I dread using the machine.

Apple really needs to use hotter chips.
Nothing to keep you warm in the winter, so sad. ;)

There are various ways to improve the heat transfer. Something as simple as running multiple instances of 'yes >/dev/null &' from the command line should enable the generation of more heat and make it warmer.

Or they can just use other material for the enclosure, to make it actually pleasing to touch.

Don't worry KUO said apple are releasing shorts in October. The base model comes with one pocket for your polishing cloth but extra pockets are likely to cost extra.
