I would regularly check brick and mortar Apple Stores. I ordered one online last night that they had in-stock at a store to pick-up this afternoon.

Specs: MBP 14" - M1 Max 10/32/16 - 64GB - 2TB

Did that for a while but for my particular configuration, none of them had them in store in the whole country for a few days (I checked repeatedly each day). Might be different in the US or other regions but in Europe I got the same 6-8 weeks for in-store pickup as for ordering with home delivery. Good luck, everyone, getting your machine, according to Apple's latest quarterly figures it will only get worse in the upcoming months (also affecting other Apple products).

One explanation is that is when they expect factory output to reach full capacity and to be able to fulfill all pending and new orders. Another way of putting it, if they are producing 0 units now and then on that date can produce 100,000 and they have a backlog of 50,000 then they can do the backlog as well as new orders.

My studio display with height adjustment was due April 7. Changed to April 22. Just changed to May 23.
Yea you could be right there.

The backlog is going to take some time to clear. To be honest I don't really expect my order to arrive in June.

Congrats on finding that! My order is basically the same as your's except I ordered 4TB... would be happy with 2TB if available.

I've checked Apple Stores in Osaka and Kyoto and they seem to only have base models available... also I need US keyboard which is not common in Japan.

There are still availabilities for the config I purchased. I do not have much experience with calling the stores -- is it possible for you to call a store and order it to be shipped?

My wife’s water bottle tipped over and dumped its entire contents on my 2019 16” MacBook Pro 64GB 2TB. Totally destroyed in a moment. ? I ordered a new 16.2” M1 Max MacBook Pro 64GB 2 TB on April 25, 2022, estimated delivery June 24, 2022. ☹️ I need a Max to run my 3 external monitors that I use every day. But no computer! Went to Best Buy and bought the baseline 16.2” M1 Pro MacBook Pro 16GB 1TB. I can’t run 3 monitors, I’ll have to limp along, but it will have to do to get me by until my Max finally comes. Then I’ll give this one to my wife to replace her 2015 baseline MacBook Pro, and sell it to recoup a few dollars. I thought about getting the baseline Mac Studio 32GB 512GB, because that could run all the monitors, but that would have a hard time keeping up with my workflow, so I abandoned that idea. I’m watching the supply chain every day, hoping things will ease up, but I’m not expecting much. I’ll hang in there until whenever my new Max comes. Oh well.

Three major purchases in one swing. I salute you. That said, why didn't you opt to repair the first Mac?

It’s pretty well gone, no sign of life at all. But i thought I could either spend a lot of money to get it repaired, and still have a water damaged mac, or, I could just spring for the M1 Max, that has so much more going for it. Besides the lightning fast speed, amazing battery life, I absolutely love the ability to load iOS apps, and there are so many other M1 features, not the least of which is being free of the intel based Mac. Everyone will have their own preferences in that regard, but personally, I am loving M1.

Sorry to hear about accidents like that. As for supply chain, i think it will get worse then better at least short term. Intel already cautioned its investors about supply woes coming back due to issues in China with the pandemic. I believe car manufacturers are scrambling. I came across a story where BMW switched chip makers but the replacement chips are not car play/android play compatible.

I don't have the computing needs you do, so I lucked out in seeing an apple store getting stock back and jumped on it, much like what you did with BestBuy

Good luck with your June delivery date

On 5-19 I received an Apple email thanking me for my patience, then on 5-29 I received an email from my credit card saying that a large purchase was approved for this MacBook Pro. So it looks like things may be moving, albeit ever so slowly.

I got the same email on 5/19 but nothing new since. What was your initial order date & what's your delivery estimate?

Perhaps the charge was the next step in the building process. For instance, it could be Apple has received confirmation that a group of Macs are ready (like yours) and are in the final QC inspection prior to packaging. This means your Mac is almost ready to ship.

I just checked B&H Photo has various 14/16 MBP configurations with 16/32/64 GB ram, and various size disks are in stock for immediate shipment. Those of you guys waiting for Apple might consider grabbing one.

Also oddly enough Apple Summerlin, NV has a 16/16/1TB in for pickup tomorrow.

I love B&H for many things, but absent a gun to my head, I will not buy a computer from B&H, what with their poor computer return policy. It's easy to get stuck with some intermittent annoying problem and have to camp out at Apple hoping that the problem will recur and they are able to fix it. i do not have the time for that. My $4000 computer doesn't work perfectly out of the box, it goes back.

My MBP Max 16” with 64 GB RAM and 8 TB SSD arrived on June 1st. After a few days of botched deliveries from FedEx, I had it in my hands yesterday. I ordered on April 12th. The machine was manufactured on May 23rd. That leads me to think they literally didn’t have any assembled and ready to ship. It was on a plane from Shanghai two days after manufacture and was in Tennessee a few days later.

Technically it arrived early. My date was pushed into July, but then I got a shipping notification. I guess they found a few parts under the shipping dock and were able to assemble mine.

if you can get one from B&H or Adorama, don’t wait. If you cancel, you may as well wait for an M2.

When I came home this early afternoon, I got great news! My M1 Max MacBook Pro, 64GB 2TB was ready for pickup! I have to give Apple kudo’s for working so hard to expedite things for their customers, under promising and over delivering as much as they were physically able to do! Not their fault what happened in Shanghai, but it is my understanding that they bent over backwards to get us our devices, even flying product in, instead of shipping by sea. They’ve lost a lot of money because of all of this, but I am one loyal customer as a result of this and more. I had ordered it on April 25, with ETA June 24, so it came in 16 days early! Hooray! Picked it up mid afternoon, brought it home, started the migration late afternoon, and just finished with all applications in place this evening about 11pm. I’ll have a few more things left to do in coming days, but most everything is pretty well done. Now I’m erasing the base model M1 Pro MacBook Pro 16GB 1TB, and getting ready to set it up for my wife, long night ahead. I hope all of you will be getting such good news if you haven’t already!

Lucky, enjoy your new beast. My M1 Max 64 GB was ordered April 28 with ETA June 15-29. still processing.

I regret cancelling my 32 GB order which was placed March 20. It was delayed on April 28 to mid June so I cancelled & re ordered with 64 GB.
