I'm planning on doing game design on Unreal engine 5
Get a Windows machine then ?

I found unreal shader compilation very slow on my 14” and performance of some sample screen was not amazing with 14 cores.

Besides that some features are not working / supported.

First of all, the computer has been ordered. And second, I saw a video that the base model 14’ did the metahuman test at 60fps. And was even able to do Ray Tracing.
I am not totally sure if ray tracing works a 100%, I am however no UE5 user, I wanted to learn it but got discouraged as some stuff is not working and shader compilations at the start of a new project seems horribly slow. Lumen and Nanite did not work when I tried. Perhaps it has changed have not checked in a while.

As for am I serious yes, I just ordered parts to build a PC with an Nvidia card as I got annoyed about all the programs that ideally need an Nvidia GPU to get access to the full feature set or at not available on Mac Os. Besides that I think eveb the Ultra is “not cutting” it for 3D work, of course always depends what you want to do.

My main focus is Blender however and not UE5.

Any if you ordered from Apple it is not an issue just try it and if it does not meet your requirements then send if back within 14 days.
