I'm pretty sure that there is a 12GB RAM floor for this.

That said, Apple was somewhat opaque about what 'more advanced Siri' means? I took it to mean the dictation mode and the tunable Siri voice, but I think most of the other stuff will be there.

My guess is that they're fine tuning the performance of these features and found that they don't work smoothly without enough RAM or NPU horsepower with less than M3. On the Mac side of things - I'm finally seeing a reason to upgrade my M1Pro.

The only reference I saw to the M5 VP was for customizing Siri’s sound.
I wonder if Apple misstated that?
Meaning, when I look at the page it looks as though all VPs get New Siri

Since I installed the developer beta on my iPhone 17 Pro, I figured I’d ask Siri AI, and as I figured, it’s going to have some of the same limitations as the iPhone 15 Pro, the standard iPhone 16 and iPhone 17 models, and here’s what I got:

Anyone figured out how to make the Siri ball that you just have to look at to use Siri? I can activate the Siri app and get the full boat UI with past discussions but want to add the Siri ball to my coffee table as part of my room setup.

I am digging Apple’s new Siri implementation. I can ask about my own data and while it may take a minute, it’s been accurately surfacing what I’ve been requesting. Tested by having Siri find my next dental appointment and it surfaced the appointment confirmation text sent by me dentist. I thought it would find the calendar appointment first or surface that as well, but it stopped with the text, which is fine by me as it gave me the information I requested.

M3 was shown as the minimum CPU able to run the more expressive Siri. This is a quote pulled from a 9 to 5 Mac article:

I understand that, but in the demo they showed the ability to place the Siri ball in your environment so you only had to look at it to activate it. I haven’t figured out how to do this. I have the full app/Ui version available which displays chat histories.
