This video is quite illuminating. He predicts much of the weirdness in this release is due to low and expensive yields of the initial TSMC 3N chip that other customers opted out of (ie. creative binning). The lower memory bandwidth is due to trying to save costs on the number of memory chips... so it's a 3 channel vs. 4 channel issue.

So lucky me I'm coming from Macbook Air M2 and Mac Mini M2 and those only had the 100GB/s memory bandwidth. So the Macbook Pro M3 Pro having 150GB/s MB is that going to show a noticeable performance difference. Since for me it's a bigger upgrade? The reason I'm upgrading so soon is because I bought the base models of both those and I shouldn't have. lol Especially on the storage side. So this time I went with 18GB and 512GB Storage. That should meet my needs much better.
