My new Macbook Pro has a pixel that gets stuck on blue every so often. I smudge it with a terry cloth and it goes away, though it always comes back. Any defects other people live with instead of returning their computer?

On my macbook pro 2.16ghz core2duo...

really squeaky right hinge, dust particles inside of the screen that is visible and annoying, clear coat on metal latch button peeling, mag-safe plug scratching up the side of the casing on a regular basis.

Macbook's inability to hold an Airport connection. (Actually I don't still have my Macbook, but I didn't get rid of it because of the wireless issues).

The burning hot love my mbp shows me...by burning my legs:eek::)

Also the rubber that goes around the inside border of my display is a little uneven. I'm not complaining though; if I had to do it again, I would buy it all over again.

CoreDuo MacBook:

- The screen flashes after wakeup
- Problematic networking
- Uneven backlighting & poor screen quality
- Occasionally it's been known to wake from sleep with the lid closed

Plus, so far I've had to have the power supply and battery replaced, and I've had to perform an 'erase and install' no less than 5 times to fix software problems (and there are still a few).

...Sure, it has its little annoyances but it's still a nice little machine. My iMac G5, on the other hand, has been absolutely perfect (knock on wood!).

Lack of better than or equal to 1600x1200 resolution on laptops.

Pitting on the palm rests of my PB G4. Makes my machine look a little turdly. Of course, my lap top isn't a fashion statement it is a workhorse (well...kind of slow these days, so maybe my work-pony).

The down arrow key on my MacBook is a little loose or something, because it has a much softer (i.e. less) response against my fingers than all the other keys. I also had the infamous CPU whine, but I fixed that with ShhMBP. :)

None whatsoever. Persistence and insistence are key when on the phone with Apple. I've had the part of the case surrounding the keyboard replaced because the finish began to wear off, and I've had the optical drive replaced. Oh, and when the initially shipped me my order they sent an MBP with a matte display, not a glossy display as I had ordered. I express-couriered it back to them at their expense.

On my PowerBook G4 1.5:

Non working auto adjustment of screen brightness
Non working Backlight to keyboard
White stains on screen.

wow so many problems, i have too imac intel core duo's at home and a macbook and they have nothing other than the macbook being warm and not having a long battery and the iphoto sometimes freezes because of low ram (512 MB) but for the rest...

on my Core Duo MBP:

- the case near the battery gaps a bit. (i've already had my battery replaced, so it's not a bulging battery. :)

- the lower right section of the keyboard (the arrow keys) is tilited up in the air and just looks a little funny, but everything works fine.

i can live with those things. i could not, however, live with the crappy battery (which was exchanged) and the dying hard drive (which was also replaced)...hoorah for applecare. :D

The extreme heat of my Core Duo macbook. Good for the winter. Not so good for the rest of the year and my scorched lap.

1.lack of hardware. im used to not having the best product on the market, yet apple seems to make their OS run just as fast, if not faster than the rest of the market.

2.costs. im willing to pay extra, aslong as it has OSX i am going to buy it no matter what.

3.now hotmail in mail. couldnt get it to work. peeved at first, hotmail sucks.

4.no gpu overclocker for osx at ATI cards.

5. the metal that has scraped off my mbp because of overuse. looks terrible.
