As I said in another thread regarding Steam 2 Mac, I am more than happy to pay again for Half Life 2! :)

I have a fundamental problem with re-buying games for other platforms. I don't mind paying a little bit to offset the porting cost, but I don't like having to re-pay for the whole game.

I currently own Orange Box and L4D; is there any way to move these from 360 over to Steam, or do I have to re-buy them if I want them on my Mac?

I hope it's released at the stroke of midnight, that means I can download it within an hour!

being in NZ, it's only 4pm.

PST, it's 3 hours away, not 1 hour. Knowing valve, we're more than 20 hours away from the release.

I wasn't planning on buying any thing since I already own the orangebox for 360 but you guys have persuaded me. I will pick up at least 1 game today.

If you like TF2 on The Orange Box, the PC (and Mac) version is so much better. It's been updated tons while the 360 version hasn't.

Well, I'm doing my part so far. :)

Today I bought Torchlight and the LucasArts Adventure Pack. The LucasArts pack was a nice surprise to see on Steam -- Loom is a great game. I played the heck out of it on the Amiga when I was a kid.

Of course I'm also downloading the free copy of Portal.

I'm really looking forward to picking up more of the Valve games as they become available, especially Team Fortress 2 and the Half Life series.

restarted Steam and Torchlight still crashes with a Fatal Error
Steam must be running to play this game (SteamAPI_Init() failed)

was wondering if I'm the only one with the problem. was quite looking forward to playing it.

Tried to play Portal. Apparently my Nvidia 7600GT is not supported. I swore. hard. Especially as it works admirably windows-side.

AAAAAARRRRGGGGGHHH.

Anyone know how to bypass and try loading it anyhow?

I feel your pain. I have a gma 950 MacBook, it's still under AppleCare, a little less than 3 years old and won't run portal at all.

When I did try to run portal, steam said that I needed to update the drivers, and reports I am running windows 0!

The box that came up had an option to run anyway, did it not give you that option?

Sweet...when will counter strike source be available for Mac...I will be getting Portal for Mac...never played it...is it fun?

I can't wait to see CS:S DOD:S and TF2.

I really want to see Modern warfare 2 ported over as well... But I'm not convinced that will happen.

I'd like to see Modern Warfare 2 ported over as well! That's pretty much my only concern right now. However they should code it so well that it doesn't need superior hardware.

That'd be good. My brother in law runs it on a 1.86c2d/2gb ram/7600GT PC quite comfortably with the settings down low.

That should cover plenty of Mac users if they were to get an OSX version running similarly.

It's definitely fun. Considering it's free and you can probably finish within a day, you should play it.

CS:S is probably going to be available when they finishing porting it to the new source engine, they are in beta right now for windows.
