Has anyone purchased one yet? What are your experiences? Post your photos? Any upgrades you made to your new 2010 Mac Mini?

I placed an order on Amazon.com last night. Its still a 'pre-order', but they'll ship it when it's available. I expect sometime late this week or early next week.

I avoided purchasing from the Apple Store because I didn't want to pay the $60~ in taxes. Additionally, Amazon offers less expensive fast shipping and imo, a better return policy.

As far as upgrades are concerned, I bought a 6GB memory kit for my Late 2008 MBP15 (Limited to 6gb, unable to do 8gb :(). I plan on taking the 4GB currently in my MBP and putting it into the Mac mini.

This way both units get upgraded at a relatively low extra cost. MBP will have 6GB, Mac Mini gets 4GB.

Ordered early this morning, scheduled for delivery tomorrow morning. After sending the Macbook back because of the LED screen this'll be my second attempt at a first Mac, so hopefully it'll go well! Can't wait.

UK but bought with student discount. Just the base model cus it's all I can afford, and the bottom panel will make it stupidly easy to upgrade the RAM later anyway when I can afford it.

Ordered today and it has already shipped via FedEx. I expect it tomorrow or Friday. Will post photos when it arrives.

I plan on eventually upgrading the RAM to 4GB and the HDD to a 7200RPM drive.

Hope everything goes smoothly for all of us who ordered early!

I went to the Apple Store in Staten Island, and it was a total waste of my time. I called ahead, and asked if they had it for sale and on display. They assured me it was, and got there, and old inventory galore.

Hmmmm.... I wonder if I could have got the old inventory at super reduced pricing? Dang, should have thought of that when I was there.

Edit: Called them, and they are selling the outgoing model for the same price (no discounts) because the new model is $100 more. *fail*

.

Bought a 2.4ghz/2gb unit this afternoon. I'll unbox it after tonight's Red Sox game.

I'm not expecting a ginormous bump in performance over my late 2007 MBP (2.4ghz/4gb/GeForce 8600M GT), but who knows. I'll be using it solely for Plex and AirVideo server for my iPad.

Physically picked mine up this morning at my local Apple Store (University Blvd, Ft.Worth).

Bought a mini 13 days ago, 1 day shy of the 14 day return policy.
The store still had the old mini on display but I asked the associate I bought from last time and he mentioned they had plenty in stock.
Exchanged and paid the difference of $108.25 from old to new and returned the DVI-HDMI adaptor my wife bought for $35, so all-in-all, I am out an xtra $75 bux.

AND.... it no longer matches my iomega MiniMax externals....damnit, hehe:)

Anyone care to comment on how hot the new mini runs? I am interested in how hot the casing feels to the touch after use, also system temps under load.

actually just watched a 2hr 720p movie and currently watching a downloaded TV show and it is at ambient temps.
Those familiar with how warm the AppleTV gets during regular operation, this isn't even close at all.

Good news! I'll wait until the iPod even to see if there is an iOS :apple:TV in the wings, but if not sounds like a 2010 Mini will end up near my TV. I was afraid the internal PSU was going to make it as hot as the :apple:TV

picked mines up today from valley fair apple. great machine, much improved over the old version.

Just grabbed mine at the Apple store this AM. I've got a Mid 2007 mini that will now become my home server - and I can finally get my wife off that silly Dell I'm always having to fix for her...

If you ordered the 2.4Ghz Mini, it looks like Amazon now shows they are in stock and shipping. $669 and no tax looks like a pretty good deal to me. Best price I have seen so far. For the Mini Server, the best price I have seen is from Macconnection at $959. Both are free shipping and no tax (depending on where you live) and are the best prices I have seen yet.

Ordered mine yesterday & decided to go with 4GB upgrade, it will ship in 4 business days so it will arrive next week. ;)

I ordered one last night with 4GB of ram on the 2.4Ghz model. I already have a Powermac G4 with an Apple Studio Display and just wanted to upgrade and not spend too much doing so. Do you think it will be sufficient enough to run Adobe Creative Suite and Final Cut Studio? I am a bit annoyed though that the estimated delivery is 30 Jun, 2010 - 01 Jul, 2010. heyho

Could any of you lucky Mini owners run Xbench real quick and post your stats? I´d love to compare with Mini to see if upgrading is worth it.

Should take less than five minutes...thanks in advance! :)

Just picked mine up from the local Apple Store, currently transferring files and settings from my MacBook. So far the "Transferiing Information" screen looks beautiful on my HDTV in the living room.

Ordered mine within minutes of apple.com updating with the new model, now just waiting for the 4 day shipping time, and delivery time to Adelaide.

Keyboard and mouse arrived yesterday as a teaser. Argh can't wait!
