I ordered this MDP/TB - VGA lead and it seems to have solved the problem with the whites. In fact, the overall picture quality is better than the HDMI connection.

Im not to keen on installing the beta..does anyone have an educated guess on when the actual release could be?

Brand new mac mini today. Connected minidisplay port to hdmi cable. Not a good look. Don't see greys.

Sigh.

I can tell a difference. It is much better.

Are you are using HDMI on your late-2012 Mini and the crushed whites issue appears to be resolved after the 10.8.3 update?

My download and install of 10.8.3 went smoothly on my mid-2011 Mini but I can't notice any difference with my HDMI > LED HDTV/monitor image because didn't have the crushed whites problem to begin with.

Yes. My 2012 mini is all that I can vouch for. From what I've seen the 2012's are the ones that are having issues.

"It's just a calibration problem...affecting only a small number of mini owners". Pfffffftttt.

Great News!

That's two reported confirmations on the 10.8.3 update resolving the crushed whites issue... you...COrocket and philipma1957...along with a "proof of issue resolved" photo posted. Thanks for the reports and happy Mini computing. What timing... I can't wait to get my new 2.3Ghz i7 late-2012 Mini I ordered earlier today.

Okay the 2012 mini I updated to 10.8.3 used a hdmi to hdmi cable on a sony tv(46 inch led). It was a quad 2.3 with a stock 5400 rpm hitachi and has 8gb ram inside of it.

I have a 2012 base mini running 10.8.2 hdmi apple adapter to dvi cable to dvi on the 1900 by 1200 princeton monitor (relabeled dell ultrasharp LCD).

I am doing a long time machine to a seagate business 2 bay black armor so I can not update the 2012 base unit yet. this base unit has 16gb ram and a diy 756gb fusion drive. below is the same test but the screen shot is from the base mini. on the base mini with stock display settings I see up to 250. I can not do the 10.8.3 or I will crash the long time machine I have been running. I will up date this mini fri morning. I am sure it will improve a bit. As this monitor was a killer when I had the 2010 mac pro with the hd5870 video card.

if you look at the screen with the white test you need to see 252 or better.

I can also confirm that the crushed whites problem is solved with 10.8.3. Let's hope no other HDMI related issues appear now.

Mac Mini 2.3 2012 connected to LG IPS277 monitor

I think the crushed whites have been fixed. Previously i was unable to view the white cables/adapters sold on apple store. Now i am able to see it clearly.

sorry to bump up 2 similar topics, but besides crushed whites problem, does 10.8.3 fix the blurry fonts issue?

Thx.
