I support an office that has appx 50 mac minis (all the same model) with dual screen setup. Most of the monitors are viewsonic (brand new), some are older asus/acer/dell using both TB-DVI and HDMI-HDMI cables. I have had quite a few weird things happen. This includes:

a- snowy tv screen on one/both monitors

b-one (usually primary) screen fail to wake from sleep when a user returns. The secondary (blurred) screen is functional but I cannot login because the login window is on the main screen

c-no video whatsoever. After remote wiping with our management software, brought it to the apple store and it fired right up. Being an apple certified technician I felt like an idiot...

d-user returns to computer, wakes it up and one monitor (secondary) comes back and works, primary also wakes but stays at a dark screen. Upon unplugging/plugging back in, it flickers momentarily and I can see login window, then goes "dark" again. Resolved with a restart.

I originally credited the problems to lousy video cables, but after reading this and the pile of LCD's I replaced sitting next to my desk, there has to be some underlying issue.
