I haven't seen if i have those flickers yet.

If I do, then that will certainly be the cherry on top. :)

:D
That's one cherry I hope you never have to taste
Seriously, I cannot believe that Apple didn't contemplate the situation of people with 10.8.1 requiring upgrade to 10.8.2 for the App Store before removing 10.8.2 availability! There must have been something very wrong with that release for them to remove it so suddenly.
My mini 2012 came with 10.8.1 pre-installed, but I upgraded to 10.8.2 before that update was made inaccessible.

All 2012 Minis were shipped with 10.8.1. I was able to update mine to 10.8.2 problemless. I read on these forums that they had removed the link from the support page from Apple.com but that it was alrady put back in again.

Doesn't the update appear in the App Store? Just click on the Apple logo at the top left of your screen and click on Software Update. It should appear there as an update!

Same boat. Bought a Macmini fo my PC loving girlfriend and she can't run the latest version of iPhoto because she isn't running 10.8.2, but there is no 10.8.2 available.

Apple pulled the update...

at least the mini looks good...

Well at least u have a good sense of humor about this whole mess. I had my cash in hand and was ready to spring for a new Mini until I read about the HDMI issue and now this....

It is not like Apple to release half baked potatoes. Here is hoping that 10.8.2 comes out in the next week or so and that the HDMI issue can be fixed at the OS or FW level, as opposed to the Intel chip level (that would require computer swap-outs...a big hassle).

I noticed your config is still 4GB RAM. For FCP you'll want to max out your RAM (about $90 US to do so).

And thank you for the screen capture tip <shift> <Cmd> <4>....very handy.

Best of luck from Seattle

You mean it's not available even through the App Store? Any official statements about this? Cause it seems pretty weird to me! Mainly because a lot of users have it up and running and because a lot of apps (including Apple ones) demand it for installation...

This issue about upgrading 10.8.1 to 10.8.2 also happens and. Problem with the new retina MacBook Pro 13. Cannot upgrade either - first time ever had anything like this, but update should be out soon.

Yeah about that... Yesterday I spent about the whole day with my mac mini. Getting to know it. And yeah, about 4-5 blank screens. :(

I also found a way to try FCPX. its "don't ask, don't tell" kind of a thing.
I was very pleased with how the little shiny thing performed. Very impressive.
Going from Cyberlink Powerdirector to FCPx is like going from riding a bike and learning how to fly a helicopter. But its fun learning. also very much needed, we're making a movie, and it will perform wonders. Just look at the this post,
I compared two screenshots, edit on my PC and on the new mac.

Yeah, I know, I plan to get 16gb, and I will of course get a SSD. Actually I have a ssd in my PC. But I don't want that one to suffer from Dark age hard drives.:p

Have you tried calling Apple Support? I'd request compensation for spending such a huge amount of money on Apple hardware and software that doesn't work together.

yep and a few posts suggest a 'special' 10.8.2 will drop this week, so fingers crossed.

I found the old 10.8.2 but didn't dare to install that since it's got pulled for a reason. So crossing fingers for one updated version soon.

It was like a breeze when I heard about Intels statement, that they are working on a fix, (yeah, I got those black screen sprinkles on top as well).

but still, I find it annoying that I can't update my mac yet. :(

Wow... I had no idea about this problem.. Anything new on this subject?

I guess I updated once I was notified.

Nah, I don't even get notified about a update. except for updates on apps, that I can't update, since the updates require that I install the latest version of lion. confused? :(

Right. I'm using OS X 10.8.2 u2, but several users in this are having trouble downloading it.

Great news!!

Just managed to install the 10.8.2

Said something about some graphic fixes, hopefully that meant the black screens will be fixed as well.
