it does it with all macs

I don't have a mac mini. My mac is an iMac intel core 2 duo 2.66 Ghz
I tried it with every mac that has leopard installed, and if you move the
mouse very fast, left and right, while logging out, the pointer will freeze

Problem solved !

Hi. My problem with the mouse freezing up during logout is solved. I reduced the tracking speed of the mouse in system preferences. It was at maximum before. I guess this is why it was causing problems.
I now put it a bit faster then half....and it doesn't freeze anymore !
:)

Ok. I changed the settings in universal access

I found out what to do for the mouse cursor not to freeze at logout. Go in universal access in your system preferences and click on the mouse tab. And then put initial delay and maximum speed at the lowest. That fixed the problem for me.

Hi there.

Same story here. Had new mac mini running 10.5.5 for 2 weeks now and up until you go to log out everything is perfect. Then just when i get to the screen where you can see the 2 log ins i have, the mouse just freezes.

Checked loads of forums and even bought a different mouse but its just done the same thing. Thank goodness for CTRL and eject key to turn off as turning the mac off at the power button is unacceptable. Don't think i will return it as its still within 28day flty return however i hope they come up with a fix soon!

So glad i running 10.4 on the macbook (this has never happened before):eek:

If you have a look in system profiler and under usb and the relevant mouse you will see the bus power is probably 500, yet the other power like the keyboard is 100? wonder whether this may be an issue?

Roll on update 10.5.6!!

mouse freeze logout, network and internet

I discovered that the mouse freeze during logout only happens
when my mac is connected to the internet. If I unplug my netword
ethernet cable, I can logout and move the mouse at the same time
without having the mouse freeze. Can you please fix this, Apple ?

Hi Everybody,

any news on this problem? I still have no solution for this annoying bug...

Thanks for every hint.

Cheers Greifenwald

Wow

I can't believe this problem has existed this long....I've had the same issue for 2 years. 1st I thought it was my bluetooth mouse, nope. I've just been dealing with it, not knowing about the "moving mouse on logout" cause. I too want my Mom to get a Mini but she will tear me apart about this. I've been mac only since 1989....and have been preaching to the whole family! I guess I'll try to get in touch with APPLE*
