That rather rules out clamping with everything in place.

So *looks a other pics* in the drop the blue board was pile-driven into the connector... I guess that's not far-fetched if you dropped it just right (wrong). Particularly if what looks like a plastic support bracket on the right hand side had previously been removed, or wasn't screwed in place, or failed...

You're right, I guess if it fell at just the wrong angle it could've broken. Damn.

Well, we'll see how tomorrow goes. If it doesn't work, it's not really worth replacing the board on a mini this old (IMHO).

Ok, here's the update (and sorry for the long delay). I was able to glue the end back together AND found out that the bulge in the center was being caused by a piece in the center of the slot that broke. I was able to fish out the little plastic piece and gently pushed the edges back together.

Now, I can power on the Mac but it sounds like a plane throttled up for take off AND displays the folder on the screen.

Any ideas? I *know* there is a valid function OS on the drive.
