Ok, so, new design (Should i begin to post this into a new thread?)

For air flow needs, the front is now grilled(?) top and sides are white acrylic (white iMac style), the power button will be inside one of those holes, discrete as possible.

It is my day off tomorrow so I will start dismantling the old casing and cutting down the metal that I'll need, god this is going to be difficult...

oh, don't ask about the cd drive, I haven't thought of a proper colour for it, although I think black may have to do...

I have to draw this all out again, in detail, on autocad, so my dad can make the front at work...

looks great. maybe you should do a white acrylic bezel as well? what is the front side grill gonna be, aluminum? keep up the work and keep us posted. you should start your own thread and keep all the progress there?

oh yeah, why not integrate the power button into the apple logo up top? that way the apple would glow when it's powered on?

Agreed the drive is an eyesore, but again, it's not like it's easy to hide...

I thought about this, but I think it would be too cheesy, I might have the apple logo light up though.

New edit, gives a better idea of the design, sorry for my terrible perspective photoshopping.

i don't like how the g3 turned out as the top seems a little blurry but i have another case i'm gonna try on. still trying to look around for that clear palmrest.

it's kinda hard to tell but the battery cover is already removed, it's gray and not white lol. it's not going back on till it's painted. i did clear another outer shell again last night and it turned out better then expected. i still can't figure out what happened to the one that's on it now. think i'll just sell them on ezbay

Are those clear housings easy to find?

i know that you can change the color of a computers grille with LEDs. could i do this on the grille (hinge) of a aluminum macbook? if so, i may do that and color the logo after my warrenty runs out!!

Here's what i plan to do to my MacBook Pro when the warranties out. If anyone has fully dismantled a MacBook Pro, PM Me, would be a great help.

Anodize the outside case, then etch the top, the etch design are cards, its not a finished img.

Thanks, the front Card will be an Apple Ace, the other 4 the regular Ace.

yeah or another cool idea i think would be to have the cards fan out from both sides of the apple. still making the logo the center.

That was the original idea, but then 2 cards on the right would be blank, as the letter/suit symbol is on the top left of the card.

Have you had a lock at the date of this thread and the first post? That might be the reason why the links don't work.

Anways, any ibook up to 700mhz(some of the latter 700mhz changed though) where the casing was painted on the inside of clear acrylic. so taking the case apart and soaking it in 90% alcohol and then wiping it off the white paint will make it clear. I've dyed quite a bit of the opaque iBooks and dying one of the clear ones once you removed the paint is really awesome.
