Since I'm on the verge of buying my MBP, I have a question about Leopard. Anyone know if it will have features that will only work with the 64 bit merom? It would really suck to have a yonah computer that can't use or take advantage of future OSX versions. I think for my needs waiting for a merom MBP isn't worthwhile but I would like to be able to update my system software in the 4 years I'll be using it (cause i'm too poor to buy a computer as frequently as some peeps on this forum).

And I know, everything is speculation so hard to put much on info unless it comes straight from apple and they ain't talkin!

I was worried about this too before buying another G processor machine, but then I got to thinking...why would Apple want to completely drop support for their previous processor or for the brand-new Intel Macs when they come out with Leopard? They would basically be telling off a large portion, probably more than half, of their customer base. I just don't think they would do that. I'd say we'll have universal OS upgrades at least through Leopard, if not through 10.6 or beyond as well. Especially since one of the Mac selling points is the longevity of the hardware. ;)
