Even works great with GM... using it now and love it... you do however need a good video card like the AMD HD 5770, an Apple video card is not necessary as this method allows PC video cards to work without the need to flash them.

I agree that they should do something to fix the Mac Pro 1,1/2,1 support. They only thing stoping them is the EFI32 but if they set aside some of their programmers to work on a EFI64, it could easily be done without unsoldering anything from the motherboard like some people have been saying.If they trimmed down the EFI64 code and removed support for the old cards that ML doesn't support any how they could easily make it fit.

I am currently running ML just fine on my 2006 Mac Pro 1,1 with the AMD HD 5770 and it runs amazing.

So far i cant see any point to upgrading even if it was supported. I actually regret the move from SL to Lion. Is there anything about ML that you think makes it worth going through the trouble for? Significant performance? Killer feature?

I upgraded (free for me) primarily beacause of dictation. I'm a terrible typist

Staying on Lion is not an option. Leapfrog that cat. 10.6 or 10.8. 10.7 is still my personal "Vista" moment for Apple. 10.8 is better simply because it angers me less and uses less resources to get things done. Also 10.8 idles 10ºC cooler than 10.7 on my Macbook. Still hotter than 10.6 but a step in the right direction.

Mac Pro First gen.

I have this 7300 Gt card with a ROm version 3004 and second card with a rom version 3008.

I pulled the 3008 version out and ran the firmware updater but it fails with that message in the subject... Any ideas?

What should the latest Rom version be for the 7300 GT



*** This all occurred on my search to see why the graphics card filled the memory and crashes my computer after watching flash video/shockwave player...

I've still never bothered to upgrade my 3,1 from 10.6.8 and I probably never will. I love mountain lion on my laptops, it feels like a system for portable computers. But 10.6.8 is suitable for all my professional needs. I have a few PowerPC apps I want to keep running.

I might be a little dense

but why go through all the hoops of editing files and adding small SSD's rather than just using traditional hackintosh methods. Can I not just stick my unibeast thumb drive in it boot from it and install like any normal hack?
