How do you make it bootable? I couldn't do it traditionally with disk utility! Is there a trick?

I returned the evo plus and got a pro. It works great.
I had some issues with a clean install on APFS on the the 970 EVO Plus and now have both that and a clone of my old and busted Mojave HFS+ with softraid drivers on a new 970 Pro installed in matched Angel Bird Wings PX-1 PCIE cards ( slots 3/4 ).

My APFS experiment with the 970 EVO Plus was great until it wasn't, I've no clear explanation why a new APFS and fresh build Mojave would misbehave, in the end it would not boot and my Metal RX580 ( no EFI ) drove me back to HFS+ and a Clone of my old Moajve since I really just need to get work done.

Others may find the basic performance stats of interest.
No Bragging just for interest sake, the mSata in RAID0 stripe is still only half the speed
I have a life boat Boot image on a Pair of mSata Stripe RAID 0 in a cheap n cheerful Startech 2 x Board in Slot 2
(yes I know thats a 16x slot - but the Titan Ridge is due any day and the funky hex bolt heads foul the RX580 Fan Blades.

I've just put the 970 Pro in and found its got a back level firmware so now I'm off to get a PC set up to flash that.

Does any one have the 970 Pro Firmware link ?
I cant find it on the Samsung page?

For anyone installing a Samsung 970 EVO Plus.

The kernel panics reports from people using the Samsung 970EVO Plus reported in Macrumors.

The problem has a good chance of being that the Samsung Firmware is an old version.

How to diagnose :

1. Install the 970 Evo Plus but MOST IMPORTANT : DO NOT FORMAT YET !

2. Start "About This Mac " / System report / NVMExpress

3. Look for the Firmware version of the 970 RVO Plus

If it is shown as ' 1B2QEXM7 " then your blade has the OLD Firmware which produces the kernel panics.

The correct latest firmware version is " 2B2QEXM7 ".

If you do indeed have the OLD FIRMWARE . . . . read this thread.

I have two 970 EVO Plus blades, both bought late 2019 and advertised as new .. BOTH had the OLD FIRMWARE.

I have since upgraded ( flashed ) both blades which now work flawlessly in my 4,1>5,1 Mojave 10.14.6.
